The base of the story (well how i understand it) is "sarcasm" or taking words to heart, mc basically has came into realisation after almost getting hit with a football, the phases and words of everyone he interacts with, so with Aika who is basically tsundere says shit to the mc which makes him wants to drift further away, now we have other plot points with other characters with similar situations, I think Aika wants the mc to meet her sister as an excuse because she wanted to invite the mc to her house, also probably cuz she fantasize the MC being a good older brother her younger sister to come true.I am genuinely confused and would really appreciate someone filling me in on the story. So, he was always obsessed with this one girl, like idol fanatic almost. Eventually he realizes she will never like him or his weird advances, so he stops it all together and gets super real? Then the girl gets upset bc her constant attention from him is now gone? Then whats going on?
DOPE, I really appreciate you taking the time to write that out for me dude. You have a phenomenal week! The base of the story (well how i understand it) is "sarcasm" or taking words to heart, mc basically has came into realisation after almost getting hit with a football, the phases and words of everyone he interacts with, so with Aika who is basically tsundere says shit to the mc which makes him wants to drift further away, now we have other plot points with other characters with similar situations, I think Aika wants the mc to meet her sister as an excuse because she wanted to invite the mc to her house, also probably cuz she fantasize the MC being a good older brother her younger sister to come true.
Other plot points (how i understand it)
- disciplinary prez is basically similar status of Aika (goddess) and the Mc basically advising her, how her subordinates sees her and how she should act.
- mc's sister realising how her words is hurting her own brother
- love rival, idk where this will go Aika obviously doesn't care about him
- probs a bunch of other sub plots i dont care to list but thats the general jist of things, lmk if im terribly wrong.
I still dont know why MC knew Sasaki little sister if they are stated to not know eafh otherOk from what I can remember, after realizing his simping delusion is cringe from a near-death experience, MC became more apathetic to his queen. Then she became tsun tsun about it cuz she obviously likes him, but don't want to admit it.
Then, blah blah, she invites the class to visit her lil sis cuz her sis is lonely I think. The lil sis likes the ikemen causing her to become jealous cuz she wants lil sis to like MC.
Last chapter, while not as readable, tried to reconcile MC and her by having him visiting the lil sis but kinda failed I think.
This chapter, MC is more eager to go, but she's too shy or something.
The translation on this one was more readable than the last. I don't think it's the translation's fault tho. I think they just dont talk like normal high schoolers making it hard to make them sound like they're speaking real sentences.
The boy hater usually developes into the one protagonist has the most healty relationship (like 200 chapters later) so im hopping smt comes out of there."Won't you still hate it if the idol you support suddenly flirts with a guy?"
She's not an idol, he's sadly just beginning to slide into mental illness, it seems. She is not an unreachable flower like his delusions tell him. She's just a pretty but flawed, impulsive girl with major communication issues. I cringe every time he calls himself a "fan" when she's no celebrity. How can this alleged main pairing have a "romance" when both ML and FL are fumbling so badly? Should I let myself get tricked into believing what happened this chapter is progress for them?
Enter the male love rival and the boy-hating friend of one of the girls, more tropes into this boiling pot of "how to fail harder at communication and romance". As far as I can tell only Rin has her act together, even Kei is verbally abusive to Wataru.
"Nu-uh, I don't care about that either-"
Can we get one chapter with Aika in it where she doesn't shoot herself in the foot? Please?
It’s basically a light-hearted take on depression. MC was in love, acted silly all the time, and people played along too long. To the point where when he “snapped out of it”, everyone kept going and actually hurt him. Now he has (in his mind) no reason to see anyone, even his family, as trustworthy. We’re slowly watching him have to figure out that people DO like him for himself, but that’s a ways off yet.Is anyone actually understanding this story? The translation quality certainly doesn't help, with the sudden gender shifts and what not.
glad they’re making progress(?)
why is there a rival
We get just a taste of how Big Sis has beaten him down all this time but, yeah, nothing about how his mom is shit with him, taking out on him all her frustrations with his dad's choices. Also, I don't really think he's figured out Aika's feelings for him in the LNs yet (while she got to overhear all of his for her) even after the "oops i tripped"/extended hug scene. He questioned it, but his continuing spiral into depression lead him to conclude that can't be true while admitting to himself he doesn't have a better explanation.Came here after watching the anime with comments about differences in the manga and LN. Anime doesn’t highlight how his family is the reason for his low self esteem. Then when the girl he was pursuing for 2 years decides to like him how is he supposed to think? Regarding the translation it just seems like they’re using google translate.
Honestly hoping he ends up with the fmc’s best friend at this point. Everyone else around him is just kinda awful and if anyone she’d have the best chemistry with him.
The "tsun" isn't that; even in this really difficult tl, it's made plain that she's as confused by her actions and motivations as Wataru is. She'll start to get it soon and she'll be appalled with how she treated him.Like wtf is this story. Everyone is blaming the mc for stuff(from my understanding) and the terrible tsun, her friend, and the sister are just straight up awful people.
So to summarize, one gets mad at mc because she somehow doesn’t understand herself. Another has decided to be both vague and not which I don’t think is really helpful (at least for the time being). And lastly the sister that involved people that didn’t really need to be. Also, even though she witnessed what happened she still seems to think the mc has to be the one to “fix it”.The "tsun" isn't that; even in this really difficult tl, it's made plain that she's as confused by her actions and motivations as Wataru is. Ashida is in a tough place because she's figured everything out before Aika has and has to keep her two best friends as close together as possible while still pretending everything is normal in order to close the distance completely without just coming right out and telling them.
Big Sis has been terrible to Wataru for a really long time but realized the night she walked in on his final confession attempt that her mistreatment helped break him. Even after her rooftop change of heart was dismissed by him, she does all she can behind the scenes to help build her brother back up (even at one point sending a clearly lovestruck Aika to meet him while texting him to "do this properly").
