To be fair, Saijou was being being selfish inserting himself everywhere she was , despite her showing she wanted anything but that. Natsukawa herself is incredibly selfish herself from the start to now, though, and nothing about MC's past selfishness or a few cutesy frames removes that, on the other hand. In other words, she's being a total hypocrite.

Considering that multiple people in the series has noted before, that Saijou's pestering did keep people away from her and that's why she never got to interact with them that much, it means that either this is her hallucinating something that was never true (not the first thing she'd be delusional about) or that that part is some level of retcon. Remains to be seen, I guess.
