Thanks for translating this. As always, a good series with some grounded life lessons.

Honestly, I thought you got too busy with work and life. You know, new job and boyfriend.

Didn't realize this one got taken down from the DCMA strike, it is not like it's super marketable compared to something like JKK.

welcome back, i don't really care about shogi but it's interesting that it's a popular enough sport/game to where it's respected and ppl can make a living off of it versus like a side hobby and most of the money comes from betting or whatever

i think its mostly that japanese intend to preserve it as a precious cultural thing idk. since if it just a regular game without reward system, it will slowly fade away since the gameplay is rather complex and the younguns wont be playing it lol

yeah i guess...There are also ppl in charge of running a shinto shrine but other than living on the property/as a family business, donations aside i imagine that's not rly a 'high paying' job either unless you do some cult-y shit as a side hustle or so, but i wonder how detailed it would be if someone picked 'shrine maiden' as a job , idk if you'd go to college for that, tho Nii-kun in that konbini manga (granted that is a comedy) planned to be a buddhist monk or so

and yeah i guess ppl do play chess here but for official tournaments you'd prolly have to travel versus a place being in every city, i'd think a normal sport is more likely even if you don't go to like, their equivalent of olympics/superbowl or a sports scholarship

(tho while it's associated with douchey personalities i feel like youtuber/streamer might be more viable as at least a side hustle lol tho i suppose similar downsides like the idol guy had)

LOL i read a lot of stuff lol. there are some korean series i read that i don't comment on considering how long the strips are or i use webtoon instead but yeah
