I've tried to think of an answer to that, but I think there just isn't anything to go on at this point. My own wild speculative guess is she's the author of the manga in the series.

I like more characters, I just don't like that every new character has to be part of the time leaping group. It'd be more interesting if there were characters that they interact with in both time periods who aren't aware of what's going on and aren't being pulled back by the magic manga like like the main two (then three, then four, now apparently five)
