@4V29LN0n Because he regularly used it to describe any media coverage he didn't like, and the term is mainly used by people who align with him now to describe coverage they don't like. Other people are more likely to use other terms to describe media that report things in an outright false or otherwise misleading way. It's similar to how other terms used by hateful people in an insulting way become tainted by association.

Also context matters. If they, say, only mention CNN as an example of fake news and don't mention any of the right wing news media that traffic in extremely blatantly misleading/false news like OAN, they're probably aligned with Trump or somewhere close to where his base is. (Because CNN was one of the main news sources Trump loved to call fake news)

Ah the joys of British politics. Especially back in those days it would be practically impossible to pass a law that didn't have some kind of benefit to the rich. Even now, if you wanted to make a change to the law here, you would have to ; get elected in your constituency, propose it to your party, have the party accept putting it forwards, propose it to the House of Commons, have a majority of elected MPs from various political parties there support it, then propose it to the House of Lords (a governing body above the House of Commons comprised of unelected ex-MPs, nobility and landed gentry), have them accept the proposal, and then (at least in those days before they were just a figurehead with no authority) take it to the ruler of the country and have them give the O.K.

This country is ridiculous.
