Is Irene less cute when you remember that's she's most likely at least a hundred-year-old baba in loli form?

Asley definitely took the high road here by going along with their scheme instead of doing power plays. He could have asked for more, but I think that would also cause more caution/trouble and expose what he's thinking about, so sitting on that anger for the next battle is probably a better move here. He might be powerful enough to shrug off their attempts to shackle him, but there are things that even he cannot do, such as providing Rina a magic school environment of her peers; and he's also not all-knowing, so even for him, there's reason enough to stay in the school environment.

That doesn't apply to this chapter though?
What?!? The whole chapter was nothing but praise to the MC (He knows spells that the Principal of the school he's in can't even comprehend, he was revealed solo killing a dragon...) and then they force him to work for them by blackmailing him through his friend.
In short, they found someone so strong, they can't even guess how really strong he is, and then do everything possible to get on his bad side. So, how is that not relevant in this chapter?

I really don't want to come off as a huge fan of this story(which I'm not), but the demands for full blown edgelord unpalatable bullshit is pissing me off.
I never asked for edgelord stuff... if it's the word "Maou" that bothers you, it just mean "Magic King"... it means the strongest mage in the world.
What I'm saying by that is, right now, he's trying to be a Sage, or someone with incredible magic knowledge, but still humble and discreet.
A Maou would be pretty much the same, without the humble and discreet part.

Let's say you're still in college, and you're incredibly rich. Now, because you don't want parasites constantly around you, you hide the fact that you're rich. You keep a low-ish profile, don't throw around money needlessly, wear normal clothes and drive a normal car.
Now, let's say that half the school, the student council and principal included, is constantly trying to lord over you because they are richer than you (they think). They keep forcing crappy tasks on you, and if you try resisting, they keep threatening to make your dad lose his job, and force your mom into prostitution or something.
Now, how long would you stay humble... how long until you come to school in a Lambo, driven by a butler, wearing full Guchi cloths with three enormous bodyguard around you...

I think it's reasonable for him to yield because he wants to stay in the school. Although I don't think that'll be the end of it, he'll surely retaliate to their blackmail sooner or later.

Asley is not fukin amused. Honestly that loli made it 20c less likely he will share magic with her.

Honestly I don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be, asley would have refused if it was, he calmly thought about it and decided to go along but I definitely think he's going to get back at them for this. Also people are forgetting literally in the same chapter that asley is wanting to learn things at the academy, he asked the doctor for private lessons so starting a fight and leaving the academy is counterproductive for his goals.

i think they will really regret it letter. i think he is someone who hold grudges a lot. so he will cause more trouble than good, or even worst. do you really believe that him, who is fighting against the eternal loli in every opportunity he gets, will give them anything back for having to deal with such position? if the council don't break down completely before his graduation i would be surprise. he is not happy at all with the blackmail, and i hope he gives the eternal loli the cold shoulder because of this. she should have know better, she still expecting to learn anything from him is she being naive.
he will be like 'i told you i was going to join, but never that i would be useful LUL retards'
really low of them tho. pushing someone like him around... can really back fire.
he probably only didn't leave straight away, because he also hopes to investigate about why the city was abandoned and the reason the gods will be unable to help. and there is also the girl future, he would rather see her develop normally inside a society than become a loner like him. if he was simple exploring around and didn't have such responsibilities in his mind, they would probably be fucked already. he don't seem like someone who can be pushed around too much, and i hope my first impression is right.

I wouldn't be surprised if Asley waited for all his friends to graduate, and then burn the academy to the ground.

>(He knows spells that the Principal of the school he's in can't even comprehend, he was revealed solo killing a dragon...)

Which is extremely different from "Oh, so he's so powerful that an actual nuclear bomb is like popping a zit in comparison". You're trolling, he's powerful but not in the "I can do whatever the hell I want and no one can stop me category". Fuck off.

>if it's the word "Maou" that bothers you, it just mean "Magic King"

The word is used more in negative connotations regardless.

>Now, let's say that half the school, the student council and principal included, is constantly trying to lord over you

Which isn't what's happening here. They literally just gave him an easy out for committing a fucking crime by having him join the student council, and they had a good reason for doing it too(keeping power dynamics between the factions balanced).

They didn't ask him to do anything unreasonable. Hell, they didn't even ask him to re-do the shitty contracts. All they wanted him to do was take up a position of authority within the school that he was normally supposed to get anyway given that he's a top student. You're acting like they raped his asshole with no lube or something.

Both Asley and the two leaders held back in this chapter, way too much in my opinion.

You guys are just pissed off because MC isn't straight wrecking people with zero effort, when he was portrayed to begin with as a very vulnerable character.

@Levanah Where was it ever stated that not signing that horrible contract was an actual crime? You're reaching.

My thoughts exactly.

Or rather, that was mind control. We have two perfectly good human specimens to try it on... so sad to see him let it go.

Or, perhaps he could have invalidated all the contracts. Then claim it was their own sloppy mistake.

Agree with the latest comments. reminder that he became nearly immortal because of his grudge.
