@RobDog coulda swore chapter 1 poochi was assumed to be female

I think one would regret eternal life if you see generations pass that you've been very involved with. Maybe if you don't think of yourself as the same species it might be easier to adapt. That reincarnated girl who became a witch who lazes around, but kills a couple slimes every day and maxes her level after 300 years. She is close to humans and goes to the village. She knows them and they know her, but she keeps her distance and doesn't go too often it seems cause its a 4 hour walk or 2 hour 1 way. I think I'd be fine doing what he was doing. Learning, experimenting, but 1 would need someone to talk to.

Is the dog a male or female? Make up your mind dammit.

The way the mc goes about helping the people of the town with his magic is moronic and nonsensical. Ignoring that it seems that the most sensible choice seems to be to help them to relocate, as there is a drought he can't fix and the well and land is completely dry, but wouldn't first killing all those monsters be the obvious move if they are planning to stay there? Building a lake outside there perimeter and creating walls of earth with openings in their defenses is just plain stupid. The mc's character is inconsistent and the author is a dumbass.

Pochi is a female ever since the first chapter. You could already tell by Pochi's eyes.

@Izaya_Onisai - because secretaries are supposed to wear sexy clothes?
There are many (equally silly) possibilities: 1) She is a spirit, and that outfit matches her attributes.
2) This is one of those silly fantasy armors that have good stats through the magic of symbolism.
3) She has "tough body" ability, and likes to show it off by making it obvious she isn't wearing armor.
4) Somebody is using a mod.

I love his and Pochi's relationship lol. Their interactions are so fun. I wouldn't mind living 5000 years if I had a good friend for all of them.

The bottom line is that the key to bearing with immortality is to have a buddy with you through them.

@Psychronia Preferably one like Pochi, who is also able to live basically forever. Otherwise you get to do some Doctor Who style companion angsting every so often.

The 'Then perhaps you will come to regret it later...' line just exudes death flag/tragedy foreshadowing, but luckily I don't see that as a tag. Those themes always become a thing when it's the 'immortal life' sort of trope, but I'm happy how well the series is going, good read.

it is a sad thing tho, making connections but losing it.
mc was 'lucky' to be alone... kinda? since he didn't seem his parents die and lover and children, because by the time he got the eternal life he didn't have any of those. he was alone and being suppressed by the world expectations of talent.
he going into seclusion was his choice, but also forced, since he would go hide somewhere anyway since he didn't seem to have many connections or place he cared about.
but now after so long, going around again. those will die, this place will crumble. his help is nice, but will this place be forever prospering? believing that is naive. they will die and so will this place. at least eventually, maybe it will take hundreds or a thousand years, it is only a question of time, and he has much of it. as humans changes, and their places too. maybe their decedents will go somewhere, or they will simple die off. the world will still be filled with life, but not the life he protected. whole empires crumble, why wouldn't a little city? if he really become too caught on his feelings, he will never leave, because leaving is letting them free. if he can't understand the scope of how much help he can give, and how limited his action are, and that he can't save everyone, he will suffer. maybe this old man saw that, he is helping them, but how much will he be able to help? does he understand his own limitations, and will he come to regret it once he understands?

I'm a bit confused on if the chief was actually thinking the regret line or if the MC only imagined that was what he was going to say?

This is different from other stories. One would want to gain power and become the strongest Mage. But this one just wants to be human. It kinda makes me want to hate this story. It could had been better executed. It’s like his heart is weak unable to to handle the passing of time. Magi/Cultivators supreme mages would want eternal life to seek the ultimate magic. But this MC is just meh..

And I can’t accept the romance. It’d be better with an elf or dragon. Instead we got the youngest girl of the lot. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it due to cover.

Ey this story is a lot better tho than dreaming of becoming the strongest mage? what's the point if you're not human. Being on top sometimes is lonely. I don't agree with the bottom commentor.

If there's no help from kingdom or guild. Doesn't that mean they don't have to pay routined land taxes to the kingdom?
