@Assaultsquirt It’s not that I don’t trust him to win. I also think that 5,000 years worth of experience has to mean something. The thing is, I don’t trust the author to let him win, hence the reference to bullsh*t reasons in my last comment. Since Asley is treated like a fool and is the butt of the joke in many situations, I am afraid that the author would make him make a stupid mistake and lose, which would really annoy me. @illusion_moon Ashley is indeed pictured as a fool by the author, but he never make fatal mistake ever, especially if its related to his own integrity or something of importance. Thats why he respected by masters (top rank adventurers, top rank mages, etc), so I think (after so many world building now) the author will not make something illogical just for a joke.
