I know that what you said is definitely correct but I think it would be an interesting twist for it to actually be a curse and for the MC to be confronted with the fact that he can't save everyone using only medical knowledge. Then he could go on an arc learning magic to be able to deal with things that normal medicine can't help with.

Dunno, the big kitty is in the background of the current cover along with the demon waifu (and handholding! ). I don't usually see humanoid and beast forms depicted on the cover at the same time, and her ears don't seem particularly cat-like 🤷
