Despite how horrible Zect was, I genuinely hope this cute slave will be what he needs to turn his life around - in a positive direction - completely, instead of just being stuck at the start of the process.
It doesn't look like Zect is the typical narcissistic bastard Brave/Hero that kicks the MC out of the group, where they never, ever, accept that any of their downfalls and failures are their fault, always someone else's fault.
It seems more like Zect has genuinely understood his previous behavior was bad, and that it couldn't continue if he were to have any semblance of a good life and success as an adventurer, and is now attempting to turn around his life for the better.

slave apologist scum outing themselves in the reactions
Guy who cares only about fictional slavery and doesn't give a shit about real world slavery (that's still ongoing), or who exactly the ones who either sold the slaves back then, the ones who bought and transported them, or the ones who bought them from the transporting merchants are, outing himself in the comments.

"Look at me I'm such a good person!"

I sure hope this turns agains Zect.
So far only the girls got the greatest shock by being welcomed home by similar looking girls as their fathers wifes. Zect just got a punch from his mom so far.

Zect's redemption arc is one of the more interesting parts of the novel if you ask me.

AINTNOWAY they’re showing the redemption to be this easy. The dude should’ve struggled for longer. I know compared to an average adventurer he is much stronger but the shit he put everyone through at least deserves more of a learning through the pain type of side plot.

And two more for Ceres!

Thanks for the translation!
his redemption hasn't even started yet. Getting slapped around for a bit and feeling a little bad isn't a real punishment or redemption, since it doesn't really address what he did wrong and fixing it. That starts here, being a struggling father and husband to a daughter and wife(the princess he was after follows him) that can't take care of themselves.

Part of me wants to make him suffer more... But he is working properly, reflecting on past actions, no longer being driven by basic desires (though may have a bit of trauma towards Milfs) and wishing to be better and reach the dragon stud by proper means and not by the usual way other "heroes" do.

I would be happy with him struggling a bit more, like watching him hearing about Ceres and his achievements or watching mother type women and him really having a hard time, but my thirst for Karma can only get to "have funny struggles" no more than that

I mean Zect is a product of his world, its Ceres who very unusual, so his attitude wasnt that much of a problem in his world, and wdym the redemption is easy ? Its litteraly the first chapter of his redemption arc, we have yet to see the first of his struggle, and the guy wants to be a dragonslayer like Ceres. Let him start somewhere

So an asshole side character will buy himself a cute pentako slave. After redemption ark he will probably get the old girls from the team back too for his own non-milf harem, while MC just gets big titied milfs.

I must say as a petanko enjoyer I am thoroughly disappointed.

I agree with the Ceres comment, but this entire chapter was not a display of his redemption struggle. At all. I’m glad he IS going through a redemption arc but this chapter he acknowledged all the hardships of Ceres and so easily accepted all of that. There was no mental anguish or strain, almost no semblance of the mentality he had before where he was treating his companions like dirt. I understand that life altering situations and close brushes with death tend to change people significantly, but this just felt so quick. The fact that he already has a goal to work towards (dragon slayer title) and he is knocking out wyverns like they are nothing and making decent money off it feels so odd.

And that’s the point of it being the first chapter of the redemption arc right? He should be struggling. We should be seeing his adjustment struggles and pain, but none of that was even portrayed in this chapter besides his room being a mess. I don’t know, it’s shown that a little time has passed since his separation with Ceres since he’s knocked out the wyverns “again” so you’d think the story would show a little bit of the adjustment period. It’s just not satisfying. And I’m not the only one who made a comment about it.

But the other comment talking about what’s to come for him is SUPER exciting and helpful. I’m looking forward to that plot line for Zecht.

I think it's my first time seeing the fallen "hero/brave" actually think about turning their lives around and getting back together with the expelled member.

The less high profile ones are more like that, though usually once the Yuusha figures out that they fucked up they're already in too deep and most of the party wipes. The fact that it ended with no deaths and three traumatized party members is better than most.

Story got pretty boring as a whole. I mean, it wasn't great to begin with, but it had some interesting premises, but the manga doesn't capitalize on those premises. Honestly, the sex is just ok, there are better mangas to read if you want the sex.

Are they really introducing what looks like best girl now that the ex hero is no longer obsessed with shoelaces?
