Now I want to read a manga following the Hero Party where a subplot is that the Hero kinda wants to exile his all-rounder best friend who handles the paperwork from the party, but is smart enough to realize how badly things would turn out, so he just... doesn't. And then they have to talk about their feelings and come to a compromise like normal adult people.

Well maybe I could be wrong there, but seems Ceres did spoiled hero party too much back then, since he saw them as if were kids.
But at the same time, I could understand that Ceres want to keep good relationship with them and their moms though. Especially the hero was always being a young gloryhole addict to begin with.

This is one of the few manga where the "hero" not only realizes his mistake and wants to amend things, but also the whole party knows pretty well how shitty they all where... usually is only one of the group at most that does this. Even with the unbelievable setting, this is surprisingly well written, is not a masterpiece mind you, but is better than many of the other "betrayed MC that is actually really powerful" type of stories.

I know, I actually like how the hero's party is portrayed here.
They're not cartoonishly evil like most heros' parties in this genre, they're just dumb, and they seem to actually feel remorse for what they did, or at least recognize how sgitty they were to the MC. It's a fresh change of pace.
