the "hero" is to full of himself. It seems he knows he can not win on his own, but refuses to let any of his pride slip.
He knows he did not fight before, and has no plans to do so this time, but still plans to take all the credit for himself. To him Arg is not a person but a tool to use and discard.
He deserves what is about to happen to him
the bandits will sell him of to/through a slave auction, and he goes for next to nothing
I wouldn't call the orcs idiots, at least they're wiser than the adventurers, they run away when faced with overwhelming force instead of just blindly charging in...
So, did MC kill that orc? It's a murder mystery. If that would be Case Closed, MC's presents at the time would be the red herring for the audience. But who has done the deed for real? Kaito Kid?
@versub The conversations don't make sense because the mangaka doesn't know how to adapt the story of the light novel, skipping many important points, for example:
-Arga did not kill the Orcs. That's why he's surprised when they say they found the body of one of them.
-Orcs can sense when an enemy is stronger than they are. In the end, they ended up running away from Arga.
-The monsters have the same level system as the adventurers (it varies by stars, the less you have, the more dangerous it is, unlike the adventurers that the more stars you have, the stronger you are)
-Arga is curious about Miru, because in the novel web things happen that do not appear in the manga.
And so it is with all the chapters, this manga has no sense if you don't read the light novel, or the web novel. I try to modify dialogues to match the light novel, so that the whole situation makes some sense, but it's difficult. 😕
