lol this is the first time that I've seen the trope of "FMC kicking out the MC without actually telling him that is because she is worried of his safety" actually gets called out as a dumb idea that will make them fall even more apart. I actually hate this trope because makes the FMC of other manga look very irredeemable and lacking of basic communication skills but at least here she was appropriately scolded and told that she is very dumb for doing it that way.
there’s another one where the MC is a weird unique weapon copy user (before the twist) and gets kicked out, and then the twist is he finds a modern day firearms magazine which he can now create all the weapons in it but also becomes a dark brooding edgelord that despises the FL even though she also liked him.

i think its really funny that the established trap rule nr1 "traps gottabe activated by an enemy" was broken in chapter 2. this is really stupid
And where does that rule come from? That's only true in certain video games, and very few of those.

Yea, yea the girls from the former party are in love with the MC. I just wasn't expecting them to agree on polygamy(even if it's not really that rare lol)

I wish his power was more like this:
Traps have cooldown and take a few seconds to fully load. The arrow skill has no cd and can then be used to manually trigger the traps and make the effect go to one direction.

Just letting him spam traps + arrow makes him no different from a mage right now. If there's a charge time after setting up the trap, at least the author can create tension and make up multiple tactics depending on the environment. He can even come up with enemies that will counter him like a ninja group boss battle where one can disarm the traps, or a mage that can sense the traps and blow them up.

they become good friend in the end, since mc didnt consider the member in his party as love interest, mc consider them more as little sibling
Sigh. Why continue reading this then? Might as well delete that harem tag on the front page if there's no harem

I've seen that one, there the FMC is way too dumb and irredeemable because she waited 2 YEARS to talk with him and apologize after almost getting him killed and cost him an eye... so no wonder he became and edgelord. I would also have trust issues with someone like that.

I mean, it's not like they know that. They haven't seen him since he left the party.
They think they've ruined his life and are hoping to make it up to him by retiring with him after the big dungeon, they have no idea that he's gained power and is gaining confidence in his own skills. It's not like they have the script.

I understand that, but the fact they haven't gone and inquire his current status through a friend or anything is an oof on their end.
Especially when everyone else is spreading around they kicked him out like he was a spawn(the usual trope i know).

Too fast.
I know the author didn't want to make the heroines looks bad, but why this early.

Thank the GODS we finally have characters who will call the idiot female love interest. Yukiko and Kukuri have the right idea saying that Kou was an idiot for expelling Keiichirou, and he's most likely going to fall in love with someone else besides her (Reizei).

I had to laugh when Yukiko said that she wants to move to a country that allows polygamy. Girl! It's too late for that! He's already going to have a new harem, and you three won't be a part of it!

meh tbh I dont like his ex party.
even if they did it under the guise of 'protecting' him they were still pretty selfish and even now one of them is deciding they should retire and take him somewhere after finishing up some gate when he is just now starting to get his motivation back.
tbf, they did also make sure to give him appropriate compensation, 1/4 of the party's funds while everyone knows he hasn't been covering 1/4 of the team's work is a pretty good deal to make sure he knew that they at least trusted in him while he was there.
Honestly would've been happier with the story if he said like "I'll just take a portion" and keep contact or smt. even if he wasn't sure how to move forward from that moment (since he was pretty limited in what he could do before becoming accelerator from toaru), the adventurer cards have that call function as we now know and any of the other members could've used that to at least followup with him or smt. him taking money would also help emphasize that connection.

I like how this manga didn't shove this revelation in the reader's face, but rather let's the reader come to their own conclusion before having a character reveal in a way that is organic. So many other manga would have straight up tell the reader that his former party-mates all want the main character, but this one actually made me think:

"We couldn't keep exposing Kageura-san to danger for our selfish desires."
Huh, I wonder what desires those were. They appear to be open to each other about the reason they wanted to adventure with him, but it doesn't seem like they were abusing him. It doesn't seem like they somehow knew he'd become super strong either.
"What if you just proposed to him as you fired him?"
Oh, so the captain was in love with him. But the other person clearly said that they all had a desire, so...
"I want to take Keiichirou-kun and move to a country that allows polygamy"
Ohhhh, shit! It's totally predictable that all of the girls in his party want him, but it's completely different if they OPENLY want him, and are totally okay with sharing him. They tricked the reader into thinking that only one of the girls in the party was crushing on him while leaving the question of what the other character meant open until the reveal.

Also, that's a very funny way of revealing that. They want to join Rentarou family in the pantheon of harems where the girls get along and they have confirmed relationship status.

"Selfish"

Y'know, I'm seeing a number of people hate on the former party for all of this, when this was actually one of the most considerate party expulsions I've ever seen.

First off, the leader expelled him herself, without telling the rest of the party beforehand, so that takes the other party members out of the matter.
Second, this was something the MC himself knew was coming. He recognized that he nearly fucking died in the last adventure, and that it was a direct result of him lacking power. He even apologized to the leader for making her expel him when he really should have bowed out himself (and the only reason he didn't resign on his own was because he wanted to spend as much time with them as possible before they went their separate ways. They clearly had a really good relationship with him) much earlier for his own safety.
Third, she was 100% ready to make sure he was in a good position when he left, offering to provide him a full quarter of the party's finances, items, etc. (which is a fair amount, given that it was a four-person party). The only reason they didn't was because the MC himself refused the offer and instead asked that they use those resources to properly equip whoever they wind up hiring to replace him.

There is no "guise" here, this genuinely was done for the sake of protect the objectively weaker MC. Remember, the MC's newfound abilities were bestowed upon him after he was expelled, so he genuinely was weak (compared to them, at least) beforehand.

She didn't even take any kind of flippant or condescending attitude when expelling him. She treated the situation with the gravity it deserved.

As for the retirement thing: Even if he's got a second wind of motivation for himself, that probably won't mean much if his old party clears the gate she's talking about. As others have mentioned, that gate is the Origin gate. It's basically the final boss of gates. She's not saying "once we clear this dungeon, let's go pick the MC up and pull him into an early retirement with us", she's saying "Hey once everything is said and done, and we've beaten the demon king and saved the world, let's reunite with him and go find somewhere peaceful to live the rest of our lives together".

Honestly it's been kind of baffling to me that people are viewing his old party negatively when they've never once behaved poorly towards him. At the very worst, maybe they should have put more effort into helping him level up (though it seems like that's generally pretty difficult for trap masters in this world), and perhaps they've not been as open with their feelings as they ought to have been. That's it.
