What would his incentive be to accept the challenge? the heck.
Also, in what way is arm-wrestling indicative of the skill of a non-strength job? Does the guy go around challenging mages and healers to arm-wrestling too? I hope he runs into Ilea soon, should humble him for sure (or it just ends up affirming his worldview when a healer beats him, I suppose...)
"hey you're a class that doesn't specialize in fighting by yourself. Perfect, let's have a competition where you compete by yourself to prove that you are strong in your class that doesn't require you to fight by yourself"
My brain hurts.
@sirflimflam it would make for an interesting plot development, but overwhelming odds are catgirl is going to be the one doing the armwrestling under the pretense that beast tamers fight using their beasts and break the guy's arm because her strength is snu snu tier.
Now that beta dbag wasn't that much of a dbag compared to other dbag you see in those isekai mangas where a dbag clashes with the mc in the guild. I mean, had the cat answered to his first question without being aggressive, maybe that dbag wouldn't have reacted aggressively. To me the cat is in the wrong here.
I'm not saying she should have answered truthfully, but giving a less "you're litteral sht I ain't gonna bother answering your questions"-kind of response would have probably resulted in a different outcome.
@kypmbangi : The bad thing is the D-bags being so common kind of makes sense. Adventurers job is violence and combat away from the general populace, so the job is going to attract people who like violence, or have issues working a normal job. as a result here is to many muscle headed D-Bags drunk on their own fighting power. IT is going to attract those soldier wannabes who do not have the discipline to join the actual military. That and using strength and violence as the first tool in you work can, over time, cause you to tend to use it in every situation. Think about all the stories of bad cops who do things like go straight for their guns rather then evaluate and deescalate the situation which is supposed to be their first step, that is the type these guilds attract someone looking for good pay and a kill boner.
MC takes part, and breaks the other guys arm because his strength is being buffed by her Snu-Snu tier strength as a part of their pact/contract. In a contract with a high end race like hers, the tamer bets a buff based on the partner, in her case physical strength.
Due to another special feature of him vs other tamers, multiple simultaneous contracts while other can only have 1 at a time
which he does not realize is special because it was common in his (destroyed by demons) village
, this can effectively grant him limitless growth potential . Which is the ability of hero boys bloodline, no growth limits
There is absolutely no incentive for him to do this, I hope they don't continue with this cliche. My guess is cat girl will arm wrestle. Still stupid because there is no benefit to them, but better than the normal cliche.
@zephora : Actually there is an incentive, just not immediate financial incentive. It is also one that does not often make much sense, bu is built into the male psyche. Peer pressure can make you do a lot of stupid things, and accepting and losing is often better then refusing in terms of peer pressure and reputation.
I feel Dejavu seeing cliche like this. Did Japanese manga artists lose creativity in story development? Korean manhwa artists did a better job in my opinion since their works often rated higher despite poorer art style.
