Thanks for the TL. This one really grabbed me, so I'm glad you're continuing it.
Very much looking forward to whether Ichiru is actually the one who died, or if that's a red herring. I rather like the idea of Mei being in denial over her old friend(lover?)'s death, and running into Amane has her riding the Cope Train and potentially falling deeper and deeper into a bad mental place.
The fact that Amane is absolutely not the sort of person you'd want to rely on when you yourself aren't in a good state of mind only makes it more delicious--especially as Amane herself has found something extraordinary in Mei, and is now trying to crack the poor girl for her own selfish exploitative needs.
Will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Or bottom. Or both, depending on the mood, I guess.

Damn. Didn't expect this to shift into psychological horror. Guess we should have known given how she was treating that camera. Guessing her end goal is to groom Mei into becoming Ichiru.
I think it's because she's in denial about her death and going would mean acknowledging the truth.

I think you mean "to groom Amane into Ichiru".
Mei's the second one introduced, who has the potentially-dead friend named Ichiru.

A little note is that it's Mei's account that hasn't posted in 3 years and has the vague condolences from classmates posted in the comments.
This could possibly mean Mei is the one who died, and this girl is just using her name.
Though the account name is "Me1_ru" which could also be a combination of Mei + Ichiru.

Me thinks somethings off about mis broken girl, something perhaps darker?
Feels her love for the crush may leak more obsessive, dunno how I didn't clock it before
Just as I had the similar thought maybe it was the crush that was dead
Goddamnit beat me to the punch
I mean broken could come from the loss of someone she holds dearly, and if she's incapable of letting her go I'd lead to supposed more obsessive behavior
Calling her mum insensitive cause something something about a reminder of her death feels like a stretch, though we know not the exact details I doubt it was actually insensitive but if she's still coping, grieving morning and struggles to accept she's gone, any reminder she's actually gone could seem insensitive...
