It seems no one is was paying attention to that flashback scene where he jacked his own brain to push it beyond 100%, it’s pretty much directly shown that he’s seen his own future and his dialogue during the fight with the floor boss further supports it “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.”

My guess is he’s seen more than a few things in his future that are not too pleasant, however I don’t think that’s the source of his behavior, the real problem is obviously related to whatever happened that made his childhood friend decide to stalk him at basically all hours of the day and not make a move on him despite clearly being in love with him, she’s probably not just doing that because she’s a psycho, she’s keeping tabs on him and tracking not only his routine but his mind state and even his damn diet, she knows something is wrong with him even if she’s not entirely sure what and has been keeping a close eye and intervening when necessary
