One of the best manga I've picked up in years, and I probably wouldn't have bothered with it if it wasn't so highly rated. One of the few times I fully agree with said rating.

If you like Slice of Life manga at all give this series a read. You don't need to even give a shit about books or libraries (though it helps if you do). Though the manga centers around the library, it's more about the people who work and visit it and their lives and philosophies. It also happens to be rather humorous and manages to keep a light tone even while handling deeper/heavier subject matters.

When reading manga sometimes you understand that it's a cartoon something to be laughed at and jeered at. But here while we are meant to laugh at the misunderstandings of each character, we see the explanation and follow up to correct that misunderstanding. It's a gentle kind of comedy where the only true villains are people who actively don't care about clearing up these misunderstandings. It truly does feel like a manga written from a place of wanting to understand the system and finding meaning within that organization. I really like this manga and it feels kind to me.

Never thought I would love a manga about a library. Then the manga lied this isn't about libraries(it is), it is about the characters and their outlook in life and how they deal with their problems. People change but they don't change instantly, it takes time to stop and reflect on your own actions. Absolute cinema

This most certainly had the atmosphere of a series that would get nuked by the DMCA. It's pretty weird how you can go through your followed titles library, spot a name, and immediately be able to predict that this one was nuked, 100%. Somehow it seems to be related to the general level of quality and production values, haha. The trashier the series, the more likely the chapters are still there.

i've read ahead and i gotta say, the upcoming arc (読書感想文編) is fucking peak. i didn't expect this from this manga. it sucks what's going on with mangadex right now and i just wanna say thanks for the tl works. i hope to see the tl continue somewhere.
