Wasn't expecting a confession now, let's see how it plays out.

Did not expect a confestsion! After this chapter, I'm almost certain the reason Naoi doesn't want to go to school is because she actually killed her father with that skillet and doesn't want the school to start asking questions.

Her narration was that he wandered off somewhere, so he left on his own. Her narration also said that he'd been holding out hope that the mother would come back, which the divorce papers and Naoi revealing she had a new lover destroyed. Odds are he just did what Kurumi's mom did and left because he didn't want to put up with the situation anymore. Though until it's confirmed, there is a chance his head injury made him drop somewhere away from home.

Naoi doesn't want to go to school because she doesn't function well socially. Kudou's narration in 20.5 said the entire class hated her. And Naoi assumes it's the same in high school, so she feels like an outcast.

OHHH SNAP, she went and said it!!

It’ll be interesting to see how much things will be shaken up when these two extremely dysfunctional girls finally mend their relationship (or at least find a way to even make it work)

Naoi and Kurumi's love is about the least toxic thing in this manga, compared to the adults and the other kids at school around them.
Naoi/Kurumi are handling things better than many real world adults at this point.

I wouldn't rule out suicide, though I suspect he has more of a role to play in the story.

He might go try to confront Naoi's mom and try to convince her to come back. Which would go horribly because she doesn't want to come back and she's already pregnant with her new lover's baby. Which Naoi's dad doesn't know, which might cause him to go berserk.

As for Isanuma, she must really be shocked. Naoi being cleared means she has to suspect that Mine is the one that wrecked the arch. And now she's seen what a scumbag their teacher actually is. I have to wonder what will happen when the story goes back to the school. I suspect the teacher will behave like every other adult so far does when faced with a problem, which is to say he'll run away and leave Isanuma to deal with the fallout alone. After all, he has no way of knowing that Kurumi was likely bluffing about having a recording, due to her missing cell phone.
I think Isanuma already knew it wasn’t Naoi who did the deed, as her entire conversation with the teacher was her confronting him about her doubts. Whether this is her consciously or unconsciously trying to slip from Mine’s grasp is another matter entirely, but I don’t think she’s as far gone as some people think. As for the teacher, sure he doesn’t have proof that Kurumi has a recording, but I doubt he has enough spine to call her bluff. After all, these are all school children. They can always transfer to a new school or redo classes if things got too bad. He could lose his job and his entire career over this.

I got the impression that she was trying to clear up her doubts about Mine's involvement, but the teacher's reaction had the opposite effect. She was hoping he'd give her evidence that Naoi actually did it.

The author said in a recent interview that the manga isn't close to ending soon, so odds are at least some of those things are a ways off.
Oh damn I wasn’t aware of that. In that case I think we’ll get a proper relationship at least going forwards. Tbf if I hadn’t seen this the manga does feel like it is resolving like half its issues rn.

Naoi is hard for me. Her home life is abysmal and her parents are shit but she’s also caused slme of her current predicament. She abused Kudou, inflicted her trauma upon someone else who then became a victimizer in turn. She pulled the same stunt with Kurumi. I feel for her, but I don’t like her.
