Always dope when mc's are so fucked up that mind-readers, empaths, etc. recoil and refuse to use their powers because even second-hand experiencing what they do is just too horrific. Sure, it's cheap writing, but fast food is tasty yanno?

Satifisfying "I have lived through a hell you could not bear" trope played out w. mister mind reader, and his immediate compulsion to have him help through the ruins is also kinda refreshing. One thing I like is how all the characters seem...genuine? I'd assume its the author's way of setting things up that, whilst sometimes (if not often) generic, plays out with characterisation that is actually enjoyable and real as opposed to some other series where, with insufficient buildup, the triumphant moment falls flat a cheesy one-liner.
