Ha go get rekt MC. This is what you get for being so spineless against the saintess when you had your chance to shut down her delusion.

Wonder if the Wolf eats both Golem and Saintess and they fuse into one being in its stomach, like wolf is Wapol or something...
probably too farfetched :wtf:

Just a bit of curiosity. I don't think it's a spoiler to say so since it's just omitted in the manga, but to my knowledge this never materially comes up again.
It comes up in the fact that an intelligent monster can leave the service of a dungeon and survive on its own. Later on a succubus boss is able to join a dungeon and later on leave it apparently without the core even realizing that it left. It took with it another succubus that may have been born in the dungeon as well.

@Bootybug
After the saintess is eaten by the wolf, she actually dissolves into particles of light and resurrects at the portable altar.

That's not a new thing, and I consider it somewhat a different matter even if it's related I suppose. With the case of Niku and Ichika, it's clear that the dungeon can "absorb" other beings as possessions. And therefore grow it's forces that way. Them being able to operate outside the dungeon and the difference with golems also highlights that a monster is largely dependent on a dungeon for magic energy, while other types of beings are not. Conversely it implies a monster is free to leave as long as they can obtain another source of energy, and that their master/core doesn't take control of their body.

So there's no issue with the scenario you cite. The main question is what happens to a monster which is created solely with DP and not enticed into the dungeon or summoned, maybe even named, when the dungeon core is destroyed. For the example you cite, I don't believe it is exactly that scenario, either for the monster or the core.

As far as I know, there are no characters in the novels that are all of the following:
  • A being created entirely through DP alone, like Rei. Not recruited or summoned or otherwise born.
  • Not passed to the service of another dungeon core.
  • Their dungeon core that created them with DP is destroyed.

This series is not the most organized, and sometimes there's details like this that I find interesting and add a certain flavor, but ends up not directly used.

You are correct, there are no characters that meet your conditions, but the scenario was alluded to by Haku in the 5th light novel.
Haku has destroyed many dungeons and was able to observe the effects of a dungeon dying after it's core was destroyed. Monsters created via the monster spawner would die immediately. She also said that monsters surviving the collapse of the dungeon could live on if they formed feral communities and had proper living conditions.
In one of the 6th light novel bonus stories Suilla discusses how Succubi need to feed on lust to survive, but they could get by living similarly to a human using food. For a dungeon succubus this should probably also apply.
So theoretically, as long as Rei, Neruneh, Kinue, Chloe and the other monsters found alternate sources and physically survived the collapse of the dungeon they would be able to keep on living.

Well, it's already been directly said. You're just saying it's going to be repeated again. But my point really just is, it never actually comes up in a way that impacts the story? I don't know what you're driving at here.

I thought the question was if the idea of intelligent monsters surviving the destruction of their dungeon ever comes up again in the series and it materially impacts the story. The author doesn't really explore this specific scenario again, but does explore different permutations of the question through out the series.
