I think the man deserves a better person who suite him more than her, well there are many women that you haven't discovered or someone waiting in the future that will love and be with you and always, but I think you can't fully blame the girl, she is a human after all and that man just overthinking and didn't approach her in the right time, he waits until he is the best person but no one perfect in this world, so if you have the same situation like in this story (May not like in the ending, just in the early and middle of the story) Just do what you have to but not too much, balance is the best way to do.

For the girl she is just a "woman" and yes sometimes even you or I can't wait but we can do it better, waiting is better specifically in relationships, I must say she has to approach him not trying to hold until time has come and do "That" like this, I think he deserves a better person that understands and adaptable for someone like him, you can't just choose a woman to be in your life just because she is beautiful, but sometimes mindset or anything else that important are important.

Anyway, this manga is trying to teach people something, not just a heartbreaking drama story that makes you cry or angry if you start to think about it, it can happen in your life in either way specify in Japan, because they have a unique working culture, but anyways for now it just a story that you read may not relate to your life directly, but I still prefer a psychopath, unstable that truly love me, she may not good for my healthy life but love is complicated thing.

Edit: Maybe being alone is better than being in some relations that are not for you, and in a relationship, you can adjust yourself, or your mindset, or other things to match with your lover, you can't just change it all the time but if it is too much maybe it time for you or your partner to leave each other, I think that guy might have a better girl because now he has a stable and good position in work and that girl not only a woman in the world.

Girl rejects the guy she likes, then the guy rejects her, then some random dude takes her and at the end, the guy broke. I don't hate the story, all the characters deserved to be unhappy so I think that it's a good end.

I'm never going to get people that has empathy with these useless mcs that reap what they sow.

Yeah I don't get the extreme hate people have for this. Hate the characters, not the story. I find it somewhat believable with how fucked up these characters are to start with. The MC drove the FMC away. People don't like NTR but this wasn't even cheating as there was no relationship in place to be violated.

Also, the MC was already partly broken by the initial rejection. He got it in his head that he was worthless and had to improve to be worthy but no matter what he achieved he was convinced he needed to achieve just a little more. If the FMC hadn't played her stupid "cool senpai" game or the MC had settled for the meeting the initial gate condition this would have had a happy ending. (I mean other than the one the male colleague got.) He may have initially even been OCD and got fixated on the goal of approving.
