i could see myself in mc's unrealistic denial of "being worthy of her"

to the point where even tho she wants to be with him...

he keeps pushing her off saying "wait till i'm worthy of you"

at the end she confides in someone else way below him

leaving the mc into this relentless broken mindset of "have to work hard. still not worthy of her"
