After all those attacks to her confidence, it was only natural she'd break down when the other guy, who was in a similar situation, offered a shoulder to cry on.

I think the more mature way to see it is, things just don’t go right for all of them. All had their contribution in this mess, so they must face it and decide how to move on.
Not pointing out who is the villain who will be made to take punishment and responsibility for something they all have part in just so the MC can feel good that he’s just an innocent victim.
