"absolutely despise each other" That's not true for Obsidian, and not entirely for Xiao Yu either, which we'll learn more about it in later chaps. Generally this series isn't a straightforward fluffy falling in love story, because of things in Xiao Yu's past (that we've only caught glimpses of as of rn)

No, they don't despise each other, Obsidian was literally smiling during that scene and the chapter right before, He Tianyu was sleeping on Obsidian's shoulder
Sure she is still resentful for the past but i wouldn't say despise
