Calling a [redacted]friend by her first name is perfectly normal.

Mum's smug like usual.

Dad's more worried about her going overboard. Knows her well. Well, they have been married for quite a while. Nice to see a married couple acting like a married couple. Even if they're flirting like newlyweds.

Mahiru's creating a wish for her future.

I'm not sure I've seen an instance where, "I'm partly joking," isn't better than either completely joking or not at all joking. It's a two-in-one.

So that was her plan. Playing dress-up.

This is one of the best mums in manga.

Even though I've watched the anime twice, the manga has its own charm. Anyone who knows why the manga is very slow and way behind the LN? First chapter came out two years and we're only at ch 14.

And can anyone explain the "going to Brazil" everyone is hyped about?

Like the anime, the manga only serves to promote the Light Novel, although both adaptations had completely different approaches in doing so. That's why the manga focuses on art rather than speed. And why the anime focused on speed rather than art

While I understand what you’re saying, I still don’t get the economics of it. I thought that between LNs, manga, and the anime of a given series that the manga was the most profitable in general. Maybe that’s my misconception though.

Lol. I was just trolling actually. Very surprised it turned into a thing on this thread.
Gotta be careful mentioning crossdressing even in jest. The weirdos who excessively like it will come out of the woodwork like termites.

Profit is Important but at the end of the day you need to see which one is the source material and which ones are adapting it, 99% of the time, the Source material is what they trying to promote, but profit is also important as I said, that is why we might have a complete adaptation of the source or only part of it. This is why we have lots of single-season animes or 2-3 vol manga for a +10 Vol. LN Series.

💀 alright, I don't like his parents. They being a pushover. And what's up with them being lovey dovey infront of kids and why are they calling each other by first name? Both of you are married by why use "-san" and not darling or dear.

And with this chapter part, we're a little less than halfway through Episode 5 of the anime. Seems on-track for Ch.15 to end up being the latter third of the episode.

I felt like a fair bit of what the manga adapted got into the anime, though it sure does feel a lot more dynamic in the manga than the anime, which feels weird since the anime has animation.... but it manages to have most of the same dialog and moments, and I like some of the direction choices for narrative flow, like how the conversation that's taking place entirely outside his door in the anime actually traveled inside as Shihoko spotted Mahiru in the anime- I thought that was a more natural way to progress the scene than everyone literally staying outside the door while this big conversation took place. But then there's the mention of the kimono in the luggage where Shihoko just hefts the thing up in a big display here, but in the anime it's sitting over by the kitchen counter area and we just cut to a side-long glance at it rather boringly.

Every so often the anime does something moderately interesting or sensible, but then waters down the content in other ways, and it's kind of disheartening to realize it's basically got the same moments and conversations, more or less, as the manga, but it does them in a far less interesting way. Still not terrible, since it got me to want to look into the manga to see what was adapted so far, but still, disappointing... but it still did well enough for a second season, so there's that.
