So they’re doing what the novel did in manga form?
im guessing we’ll get 1 chapter of the full moment
then the following POV chapte for characters?

The novel is written this way. Every chapter is in parts from different pov.
Honestly I think the author should have started with this as it makes chapter one make more sense with the world building and how desperate they were for a good meal

Thanks for the chapter!
This is what I mean when I said this feels like a weird place to put the chapter; this makes more sense as the first chapter than the second.

It is the first chapter in the novel. The manga swapped them for w.e reason.

It's a little forced. Surely there'd be someone among hundreds of mercenaries who knows how to cook a tasty meal.

"i thought the cook would just be a salary thief" Hes kinda like the party leader that kicks out the mc but in reverse step and instead recruiting the mc.

Hmmm... I was thinking about this in the previous chapter, but whatever gave MC the idea that in a band of mercenaries, he'd be safer than in a village? Although I guess either option has it's risks, but in this chapter, it becomes all the more clear, that war is pretty much a given here (not that MC could take that into consideration yet, given the limited knowledge and information he's gotten). Would there be any point in wartime, to destroy villages (especially the country side ones, that produce food), when you want to take over countries? What's the point of taking over a country, when you can't sustain it, because not only does it lack food, there's nobody left alive to pay tax, or whatever?
...
I guess it is a good point for this story that gambling and good food are the main forms of entertainment, despite the inclusion of women in the group... It could have gone in other directions easily enough (and I would like it less for it, probably).
Not that I am greatly enjoying it so far, but I am still willing to give it a shot.

First chapter: Japan doesn't exists her, and no one speaks japanese. Also, mercenaries thinks MC is much younger than he claims because "asians look younger".

This chapter: "Kaguya"

Edit: Oh f... there's even more in the next chapter... Complete with katana and japanese outfits.
This shapes up to be some self-fellating slop of the first order.
