The story's developing nicely, I already really dig Pom's antics. I believe this is also the first time I've seen a character with dwarfism in manga (fantasy dwarves don't count), at least explicitly said.

I wonder why Brangoire lied to the queen (I think it's to protect Aquill, but why and from what), and if he had the time to update Mellenisse of the story. I'm not familiar with Radiant, so I don't know if the queen appeared there, and what are her dispositions.

Thank you very much for the scanlation. :meguu: (y)

I don't quite understand. Why they so discriminate against wooded? Aren't they just their own people trapped in the wood for far too long?

On side note, does Radiant gonna be updated or it's officially dropped here?

It is basically an allegory of immigration--they just went through a war, and now there's a ton of people that need: Food, housing, and various other things. Yes, most of them are from the kingdom, but it doesn't make a difference to the people there. Most people coming through don't have anything.

Radiant volume 19 releases November 22nd, so we should start our work on the translations around then. You can expect it on its page.

Yeah Tony seems to like touching immigration topic since Rumble Town in Radiant. I guess try to picture France problem. But using the same citizen from the same kingdom for immigration allegory, i just can't wrap my head around it.

Oh, yeah, you're right. I just checked the last chapter of Radiant. I stop checking after no one update for so long.

I understand that. I actually like the idea but the wooded aren’t shown to be distinguishable from anyone else in any way. You look at most forms of bigotry/prejudice and it‘s things you could quickly pick up on like race, religious symbols/clothing, sexuality, ect.

I think if they wanted to do this, they could have made it so most of the wooded people come from a time when Cyfinder had a different accent. That would give something for people of prejudice to notice/target. It could also be used to maybe comment on how immigrants aren’t always treated the same since not all wooded would have the accent.

IMO immigration is a lot more complicated than other social issues. Like a lot of the people I’ve heard against immigrants around me are self admitted immigrants. There’s also the economical part like you mentioned.

The height of everyone in the classroom has confused me.

I’m assuming everyone’s around 10? I could’ve sworn Aquill looked taller but that might have just been cuz he was next to brangoire. They showed him a head above Pom so is he just taking the kids classes because he wasn’t able to because of his infection? Why’s he the only one that tall then? Is the teacher 6’5?

I’m probably overthinking this.

You may have already read the main series at this point, but I want to write this... Boadicea is a good person, a very good person actually.

She comes across as haughty many times, but she is truly caring and a good leader, when needed, she has no hesitation to put herself in danger for her people.

Brangoire didn't tell her because... well, it is a composite reason, there is the pregnancy (which is a WHOLE thing), there is the past "incident" with specters (another WHOLE thing), and I would bet Brangoire thinks the fact Aquill is a "wooded" may ruffle some feathers, so he is playing it safe.

He trusts her, but she trusts him too, and he is the type that likes to deal with things himself if he can, which may cause complications, but it is too needed so that Boadicea herself doesn't have to deal with everything.

And there is the fact that the war left the country without many lords, some lost in battle... others lost for other reasons.
