Oh... OH! This is actually an unexpected lore heavy chapter. These cultist are most likely the ones in the original priest flashback cover art where she watched something happen to someone with figures behind her.

And if we take Othello's words as the truth, then priest most likely died of suicide considering she wants to avoid her old life as much as possible and seems weak willed. Not to mention Hecta said that priest immediately tried killing herself by biting off her tongue when she was isekai'ed. That also means... Ougi Arikawa being isekai as the hero is the outlier... It could be part of Hecta's many secrets, maybe she isekai Ougi Arikawa on purpose, or maybe not, because MC was the only one who wanted to live and from his brief talk with the original hero he feeds off of souls and enjoys the ones with the a lot of emotions
