She got to be a placeholder bride for years all because her sister's poor health and parents' ambition. And the lesson she learned from that was changing her personality to be more needy/demanding like her sister might give her more control of her life than being submissive to other's will as she had been.

It seems like this is the first time she isn't totally alone and perhaps has someone on her side. We'll have to see what kind of villainess she is in the end with the sister, prince, and parents all needing their comeuppance.

Didn't she literally just say they don't have a written language?..
So into what language is she translating 🤨
I think they had been doing oral translating which is why they can speak her language well but hit a roadblock when it came to books. With a human settlement so close they could get books but after that they've not had success.

I really like how manga is progressing so far.

And I love how beastmen are represented. They are kind but barbaric and they want to become more civilized, to the point that they want to create their own library and accumulate knowledge.

I see that some asked 'into what language if they do not have it' - it is exactly in cases like these that the written language was invented. This reminds me of a Cyril and Methodius story who went on to Christianize the Slavs and invented Cyrillic language that was based on Slavic tribes oral one.

I have a feeling that FMC might do something similar for them.

Food. Not cook. And walnut, hope it's not that kind of "nuts". ol

For language, I can relate. I know Japanese spelling (thanks to jp dub with eng sub  ) but still can't write jp right word.
And let's not even start with the wolf tribe trying to translate human books into their own language. WITHOUT EVEN A WRITTEN LANGUAGE OF THEIR OWN.
But what you expect of animal/wolf word to write? All I know is ruff bark and whimper....

But what is she translating it to, since she is translating books into something, or is she literally just translating written to orally spoken language and thats it
Reshutoka's parsing the written word to spoken word, then to whatever the elders speak.

I'd guess wolfie got 5th grade or less written language comprehension, and lacks context or secondary sources to understand more complicated texts.

Like a literate kid trying to explain a physics textbook to their grandpa who only knows a foreign language.

The chapter literally told you it's hard for the wolf tribe to be fully self-sufficient now and that they've begun interacting with nearby human settlements. It's not hard to imagine the tribe want to progress beyond just interacting with humans through spoken language. There's a whole lot of advantages in knowing how to read and write if they want to strengthen their, for example, economic relations with the humans. They're moving with the times.

Let me get this straight: Karina, in earlier years, was told to take her sister Aurora's place as the prince's fiancée. Due to Aurora's poor health. And indeed, Karina took Aurora's place. Yet, at the beginning of the story, Aurora, seemingly in good health, took Karina's place. Which was meant to be Aurora's place from the get go. Now Karina wants to take her place back that Aurora took.

Is anyone else confused?

They can just use the human script to write their language.

We love our books and everything, but humanity had preserved knowledge for millennia before we started creating written records. Hell, this is why we have oral stories recounting encounters with megafauna that went caput way before written languages were a thing.

Wolf girl's tribe is probably composing stories to tell with the info they are getting from the books. With Karina's help they can make the process faster. Perhaps even starting a writing revolution.
