The Mc Is honestly serviceable, I think my main problem is that the series tried to juggle three other characters who have a decent amount of nuance in 20 chapters which isn’t really doable.
They were off to a good start with establishing Aiko’s character past her fanboyism, while not much work was done I lowkey thought she and Kohaku had the best synergy and was thinking they would be endgame as Aiko learns to engage in a healthish relationship and Kohaku learns that friendships/relationships isnt always give and take or something like that.
Ema and Kirara got sidelined so hard for the first 15ish chapters that it feels really jarring to have the last 3/4 focus solely on them and their relationship cuz while we were able to infer a lot and the conflict of if Ema loves Kirara as family/something more is interesting this question is really only posed in the last two chapters and not given a lot of thought. In contrast I don’t particularly like Kirara loving Ema back because it just feels like the author wanting to make a cute relationship so the series has something to show before its axed. I’m inclined to believe this is the case but I’m not 100% sure, I’m not the author lol.
Anyways TLDR decent series good startup whatever ending that is obviously rushed,
Green Bocchi could have been interesting
vampire fanboy got good screentime near the start
Exorcist and Vampire needed more
