Don't think she's pregnant. She "wanted to have her first time" with Riku. There's definitely something going on between her family and Takt's family though. Takt isn't worried about her so I don't think she is in danger. I'm going to guess it's something along the lines of Shizuku being in an arranged marriage with Takt or someone close to him. That's why those two are officially dating even though Takt is obviously gay.

In chapter 43 page 7 she walks that back and says 'It's not that I want my first time to be with Riku' to say she wants 'Riku to be the one to initiate it' and it HAS to be while she's with Takt. It being sex, obviously. So she wants Riku to initiate with her and that screams to me Takt or someone within his family sexual assaulted her and she's trying to use sex with Riku to override the memory/cover up a pregnancy in my initial thought. And in regards to the beach manager, there's not much, as a guy, that'd prevent me from sleeping with a girl with her being pregnant being one of them which is why it was my first thought. She said after something happens it'd be fine for her to have sex with him but not now and he shoos her away.

We also know her and Takt had a big fight in the earlier portions of the manga but we never were made privy to what it was. Takt did seem worried or pissed off or upset when Umimi and Shizuku were hanging off of Riku and he randomly said he had stuff to do. And then Shizuku randomly stops, kills the mood, and joins him in walking away in a very weird scene imo.

Something really sleazy is going on with Takt's family I'm near certain of. I didn't pick up on Takt being gay though? I got the vibe he hated his family and wanted out from the vacation car ride but that's about it. The bath scene I couldn't really make out besides some roughhousing I've seen similar in locker rooms though so a little clarification on that would probably set me straight.

That title ‘Aitsu no Kanojo’—I guess it really means ‘They all should’ve been my girlfriends.’

Dying of what? My guess is HIV passed on from her family or something which would be enough to scare the beach manager. The last time Shizuku tries to sleep with Riku, she was really adamant about using a condom which further disapproves the pregnant theory and further supports my STD theory.

As for Takt being gay, it's been a generally accepted fan theory. In ch13, Takt tells Umimi the original reason he got together with her was because he wanted try falling in love with somebody. Then in ch14, Riku wakes up from feeling a sensation on his lips. Ch15 shows that Umimi kissed him on the cheeks and the only other person to visit Riku was Takt. In ch26 he straight up says even though his family is rich, he can't get what he wants while looking straight at Riku. There's also been more subtle hints but that could just be my own bias speaking.

I think she was lying or omitting some information when she said she wanted her first time to be with him and I feel like the chp 43 revision is what she originally meant to say which is why she clarified for both him and us. That's true @ pregnancy being protection-free.

My gut can't agree with the blackmail or the HIV theory, though. It's screaming something is off about those and they don't really fit the puzzle imo. Something that, after it's done, she would okay sleeping with the beach manager doesn't fit 1) marriage into politicians family because that'd cause a huge scandal if it got out and 2) HIV/fatal STD doesn't work because she said after as if she knew she would still be alive. I can kinda get on board with an STD in general cause of her urging him he has to use a condom but that still doesn't feel right?

Ok, yeah that makes a lot of sense with Takt and on a re-read I see it too. Our conversation definitely has me thinking Takt's family is the main issue here in some manner which is why we haven't been introduced to them yet. The moment we see them, they'll be like Umimi's dad and we can just tell something is off and they're the cause. Some sort of sexual violence has been done by one of them on Shizuku and Takt feels like he's being blackmailed/controlled as being gay causes a big problem for him as a family/company 'heir' as he can't keep the line going if he doesn't have kids.

Some of these chapters feel like a fever dream. There's over a handful of times where the manga just transitions from one scene into Riku being in a daze after waking up. The way the author draws backgrounds like every area is a dimly lit room kinda adds to that feeling to me. I can't tell if the author is doing this for any meaningful purpose or if it's just their style but I won't be surprised if they reveal Riku to be narcoleptic or something.

It's been so long since we've seen Shizuku outside of that short glimpse at school, I really wish this Umimi stuff would wrap up already. I don't hate the girl but her arc feels like such a side quest.

Was thinking the same thing. Everytime this guy lies down to sleep he wakes up attacked by a different naked girl. I hope he gets to make it out of this nightmare eventually..
