Him being dense doesn't make him a shitty person. Yeah, because trying to keep the status quo between two close childhood friends is such a shitty thing to do. Trying to fuck somebody's girlfriend is a shitty thing to do and he didn't want to go through with it. He has literally asked her to break up with Takt so he could go through with it and she said no. He has tried to get the answers out of her but she doesn't want to tell him and insists on being super cryptic about it.

Umimi is such a weird case as she didn't even want to get together with Riku as a girlfriend because of her experience/family situation. She thought it would be best to get together with somebody that's like his brother so she can be a part of Riku's family and never be separated from him. It wasn't until after Takt broke up with her that she started wanting to get together with Riku in that way.

It's alright not to like characters but at this point a few are just being really disingenuous about the MC. People just like to dump all the responsibility on him when any of the characters could have stepped forward about it considering their massive love/attraction towards him.

We can all agree that Yako is the best girl but even she was wanting to sideline her feelings for Riku because of Umimi. It's trainwreck all the way around and it sucks. Can't wait for this to end so I don't have to think about it anymore.

Riku picks up the card and then remembers to go back up to meet Umimi but she appears to be gone.

She had a predetermined date where she was going to fuck somebody??? This is it??? This was all about her fucking somebody else and so she wanted Riku to be first???

So she was presumably promised to some businessman as a fuck toy to save her family's business or something... And I bet this businessman is some hotshot with massive influence so she named dropped him to the rapist at the beach house arc, rapist got scared he might get killed if the business man found out and so he dropped the raping and let her go... In fact she probably told him that the businessman wanted her virginity so she had to keep it intact until the appointed date.. Then afterwards she would be okay to fuck the rapist.. This also explains why Takt is her "boyfriend"... Potentially this was to delay the fucking as long as possible. She couldn't choose Riku for that role because she was never going to tell him the truth as she was afraid he might go and do something stupid which would endanger his life and her family's business. So she went to Takt and loaded the burden on him. Obviously Takt knew everything from the beginning and he knew what went on at the beach house which is why he left to let them fuck. And here's the kicker: like the one shot that everyone is pilling on, Shizuku is probably now addicted to getting fucked by the businessman and is struggling to come to terms that she wants to be fucked by someone else than Riku.
