How much do you want to bet plot armor means no repercussions for his massive fuckup?
I kinda guessed from that shallow slash where he only lost an eye (and presumably part of his left frontal lobe), he's the story's lolcow, our trip into the Darksiders with Mr Obvious Villain McVillainface.
I'm starting to feel pretty iffy on the series, it feels like MC will go the David Martinez overused Sandivistan route, but the author probably doesn't have the
cajones to actually kill the MC, so he'll just develop his alter ego more. I don't know what the plan is for Heidemarie, if there even is a plan. Can I take her seriously? The tone flips around a lot. It feels like the author wants Dark Fantasy, but at the same time it feels so much like Fairy Tale or Naruto so I'm not sure what's going on here.
Honestly I feel like fantasy stories that involve dungeons as the central economic industry fall into a trap that hampers the development of the world building, magic systems, power progression and character growth. I like the artstyle of this one but there are a lot of logical gaps. Warriors and priests get physically huge, but furniture and doors all look sized for the average height. Typewriters and a printing press exist, but steam power or wheeled vehicles seem to be absent. People use game-like holographic projection maps and long-range communication with HUD pop-ups but clothing uses tied cords rather than buttons.
I guess I'm just barking up the wrong tree here, looking for seinen in shonen or something, sorry for my griping.
Thanks for your hard work with scanlating!
