the dumbass man who cheated his gf does not know who he is because they keep his name a secret, instead calling him 'Zero' in the report about SSS ranker, and the blacklist that dumbass bitch did to him, while she did do it, is not authorised because to lift the blacklist, they need to have international conference to lift it for some reason


the cheater bf, get the 'we will not fire you but we will make you', cut his salary in half, and move him to Aichi as punishment, he doesn't know that's how they fuck him up, that particular branch is meant for someone who is punished to stay down, without work to do, he stuck to dead end, he finally can't stand the cheating GF and catastrophically argue with her, leads to..........

btw, they said S-ranker is as important as prime minister, but does not have a lock to prevent someone to easily dismiss the high ranker, not even SSS ranker that 12 only exist in the world which by the stated logic, probably as important as President of European Commission
they allowed the equivalent of local precinct clergymen fired a fucking president of european commission out of their position and bar them from reapply in the European commission

As someone has read a ton of similar story settings of MC not being appreciated of how good of an adventure they are this is for sure the dumbest set up. Just off the fact how the hell does his ex girlfriend and her asshole friend not know about how much he makes or know about his being the highest ranking, its like a really stupid oversight on the author's side. Like there are other ways to make this story work without making the MC and other characters look outright brain dead. Like I'll still read it just to see how this goes but boy not a great start.

Oof... I agree the MC is a dumbass and the entire premise is stupid, but on this I need to defend him a bit.

It's not like he was trying to groom the girl or brag in front of her. He was just trying to lift her up when she felt scared. He wanted to reassure her she can become successful as an adventurer and that she is safe as long as he—someone who can make 20 billion per month by adventuring—is with her. The way he did it lacked a ton of common sense, but he had pure intentions.

As for doing the same last chapter... That would have been even more pathetic. How was he supposed to bring that up? "Oh yeah? Well, I made 20 billion just last month?" That would be a toddler-like "I have more toys than you!" response. Don't get me wrong, he should have defended himself in some way and not let them walk all over him (let alone let his registration be deleted on the spot), but bringing up his wealth as his sole counter would be seen as totally pathetic, as if he's just trying to make himself feel better with the only thing he's got going for him (which can't be true in-universe or he never would've become the top-ranker). And while his dumb ass wouldn't have anticipated it, they would've just assumed he was lying anyway. He should have brought up his status and demanded some respect from the guy, though. As for his ex-girlfriend, I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd assumed nothing he could say would have mattered (only in her case, though—not in the guy's case).

Anyway, maybe I'm alone in this, but I feel bragging about how much money you make as a defense (or at least as your only defense) when being insulted is more pathetic than just taking it. It's like that's the only thing to your name.

On another note, he should have definitely gotten in touch with his guildmates to tell them he's retiring (and what happened), but for now I'm cutting him some slack, since it is technically still the morning right after and he's kind of preoccupied with the gal right now. If he doesn't reach out to anyone when he gets the chance, though, he's even dumber than currently presented... Or he seriously doesn't care and is completely socially inept.

And the guild clerk is outright stating she's blacklisting him unilaterally and for reasons that... Well, I doubt they're actually within the rules the guild operates by. Again, I refuse to believe that this guy somehow did not end up becoming at least very widely respected, known and popular as he slowly climbed the ladder at least up to rank A, nevermind the SSS rank he has. I can believe that the SSS Ranks may have been given some protection and anonymity. But before they reach Rank S, I doubt that any government or private group would have diverted enough money to assist with the protection of the personal lives of their members until they became so distinct that they are worth the entire monetary value of a successful small corporation, in monthly payments.

This glaringly gigantic plot hole is absolutely absurd and really only serves to put some truly idiotic people into the worst of circumstances.

Now, of course, this doesn't remove the fact that there does probably exist some people who, say for example, works as a cashier at a random supermarket and does not know the face of the leader of their own country. You have plenty of people who live under a rock oblivious to even their own local celebrities. But I find it still doesn't make it any less stupid. The simplest explanation is really just that the author wanted to tell a very specific story.

But did not have the talent and writing ability to set it up properly. So we're just kinda waddling around the very awkward setup stage until we finally get to where the author really wants us to be. Which is an old retired super wealthy super powerful man grooming a busty vulnerable barely legal(?) girl into becoming his next wife who actually has the same interests/hobby/profession as him. Honestly I'm just surprised we don't have an erotica tag, so I guess being blue balled by said groomed future wife is also part of the fantasy the author wants to write about.
