Ok, I read the novel, the more proper title is "A retired young SSS rank adventurer decided to have a slow life by training beginner adventurers".

Every arc will have at least one new student(I only read up to the end of the third arc), and the story is kinda chill except for the villains(?). All of the villain will eventually get their comeuppance, only 2 people will recover from it and only 1 of them only suffered lightly. No villain walks out without any real consequences.

Also expect a lot of non-mc POV and some of these POV to have timeskip just to tie up that character's story before going back to the main story(the timeskip doesn't affect the main story, it will go back to before the timeskip)

Spoiler Senpai, please tell me how long until we see the shitty ex and receptionist get comeuppance
The receptionist will soon be forced to retire and becoming an adventurer, but that's the best outcome for the villain of this series honestly and she kinda quick on reflecting on it too thanks to her friend(we have already seen her).

The friends weren't able to convince the ex tho. She will be fired from her job and marrying the relocated-as-a-punishment guild staff and, well, she isn't a good stay-at-home wife. To make this short, she will try to be an adventurer, almost assaulted, then get attacked by a rampaging monster.

I think this all happened in the first arc, though we will only learn the outcome of the ex in the second arc.

45% tax sounds high but IRL you pay much more in taxes without realizing.
There's sales taxes that can range from city to county to state. Tax on gasoline, depending on the state. Property tax varies wildly too, depending on where you live.
AFAIK in CA there's a tax on processed foods that includes sandwiches made in restaurants.

Has anyone pointed out yet how stupid it is to go into a dungeon wearing hoop earrings? I know she's basically homeless right now, so it's not that weird that she's dungeon-diving in her school uniform, but she should at least take those earrings off before they get snagged on something and rip her earlobe in half.

The tax is actually pissing me off more than anything else in the series. I’d get it if you are turning around to sell the crystals, but they aren’t making a profit off them. The fact that you do all this work and then have to pay for the crystals to keep them is outrageous. Is this actually a thing, like do farmers have to pay a tax on shit they grow? And I’m not talking associate taxes like land tax, strictly a tax on the product before it’s sold (or personally used).

Edit: ngl the tax makes sense now that I’ve had time to sleep on it, I was just massively overreacting. I think they could’ve gone down a different path (I.e. entrance fees), but it’s not the worst thing in the world like I thought it was.

You gotta be fucking kidding me? Magic crystal tax? 45% at that? This ain't tax, this is a robbery :shamihuh:
When were taxes any different from a robbery?
They risk their lives, going into the dungeon, and the gov takes almost half of it, and seems like there is 0 support from it. Very rl like.

Not even north Korea would do this
Doubt.

its funny to see people mald over the tax on crystals when commission checks are taxed about that much in the real world. In the US, you pay taxes on bonuses and prize winnings which is usually about 24%, plus they take out medical and retirement which is another ~16% (of which your employer pays half of that, secretly). And that's in a country which has a 'relatively low' tax rate, other countries that actually provide benefits like healthcare to their citizens pay more than that (whether that's worth it or not is outside the scope of this post).
at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the post-tax cut you get to take home, which we don't know yet due to her absorbing all the crystals to level up. If you get 1,000,000 dollars with a 90% tax rate or 100,000 dollars with a 0% tax rate then it doesn't really matter which one applies, which is the point the mc is making in the comic.

whining about taxation
My gods, you youths. PLEASE, for the love of sanity, take a courseload in civics, history and the rise (and fall) of civilizations, and understand how systems are needed when managing ever-growing groups of people at multiple scales (family, extended families, villages, cities, metropolises, provinces/states, countries, planets, solar systems and beyond).

Government is as much of a pain in the arse as it is an unfortunate requirement of having a Society that grows and makes things simpler at scale.

And how do Governments pay for all this work¹? With taxes, on income as well as business (profits, etc - when taxes work properly, insane CEO pay is an exception to be quashed rather than the rule)

If we didn't have Government, civilization, societies and all of those multiple frameworks, we wouldn't have cell phones, we wouldn't be in space, we wouldn't have games, we wouldn't have the internet, we wouldn't have houses.

We'd still be banging heads or nether parts in caves.

/rant

¹: Yes, the definition of "work" here isn't exactly well-defined, and would need several endless arguments just to define its core. Just take it at face value for this argument. This isn't a gotcha.

It's also not like dungeons are just things in nature. they are managed by the government, not for moneyary reason it'd seem, but for that whope "stampede prevention" reason, what with the walls and wahtnot, so it's like being a commission worker for someone else, and only getting 50% of the revenue earned, which honestly is naot ultra crazy. also presumably the gov woukd funnel that money back towards stufd adventurers use. like that medic mention when the injured person came in, it's possible that adventurer treatment is subsidized, it's just that details aren't shown yet

I just realized... The manga artist is bloody lazy if the way to absorb the mana rocks is literally "they clip through your chest and get magically absorbed into your physical or etheric self".

I wish fast-food manga was slightly less junk, but hey, I'll take by-the-numbers revenge fantasies where I can.

You know... a random girl with a sword in hand will not kill a wolf. Same for the average modern man, actually
It's not like she has skills or anything. Right now, she's literally a random girl.

Also.... the receptionist woman did not comment on how a complete rookie killed 72 wolves? So basically, everyone can enter a dungeon and who cares if they die right?
She got chewed out for being up front that time, so that was probably a different receptionist this time.
