I'm with the crowd on this one - this is reaaaally pushing the term of 'villainous' when you've effectively got a Robin Hood style merchant, and the people who call Robin Hood villainous... Well...
It's also a pretty standard 'hero comes swooping in to save potential romantic interest' story as things go, except without enough time to really develop that theoretical relationship. It also has a lot of informed harshness/plotting from actual villains that's thrown out there, rather than really developed. As a result, it's not a particularly compelling story.
Still, at least it has a few cute moments.
