Small tidbit that was cut from this chapter but might show up in some sidestory:
Diana also went into the hot spring with Reid but he sends her out to meet Rubens wearing just a yukata. Reid felt Rubens was infuriatingly slow (a total coward really) with Diana so he decided to give them a little push. Yukatas would soon become an extremely popular import Baldian men gifted their wives or lovers.
Also to reiterate why Farah's education is so strict (covering both Renalute and Magnolia curriculums), as a political hostage she is being sent alone and will have zero support once she arrives. Therefore, her mother Eltia has elected to make sure she has all the knowledge necessary to build her own foundation and survive, even if (especially actually) it means not having a happy childhood. Queen Riezel's tears are not from neglect but for Farah's sake because her future looks so bleak. Renalute considers polygamy in the royal family perfectly normal and the family dynamics are actually really good. Norris is bullshitting Rassius by saying the King is playing favorites with Eltia.
Also for those who don't know, many of the characters' names are Tales of references.
