I think this is the first times I saw a MC throw this argument back against their summoners. They just make excuses because they didn't want to sacrifice their own people to fix the problem.

Kento is OBSESSED with her (this is very well established), he would have regretted it later. Not to mention how it would have effected the morale of the others if she could have been made into a familiar.

Killing Camilla would be her GETTING OFF EASY. Now she has to suffer, for a long time. Now she's going to be worked til collapse (like her victims), pawed at by ugly bastards, and be rejected constantly.

Perhaps he needs ties to someone, but he already has the town and his prospective harem, so why bother with a kingdom he hates?

They border the kingdom helping/hosting them so not having the country collapse is probably for the best since it would cause a flood of people trying to get into stable and or safer places causing more problems for his border town he is staying in

Yeah reading ahead and seeing Kento become Demon King, I've been waiting almost a year to see this scene. This is the end of the beginning, Arc Four starts next.

• She tried to start their meeting over with dignity earlier, only to be made fun of, so she was clothed for this.
• She should still have abs from doing sword kata every morning (the mangaka drew these in earlier chapters, but forgot).
• He punched her three times. This was the first time Kento had punched someone in his life (in the adaptation, he punched the dog boy before this.)
• He talked about using her as a bargaining chip to be offered to her half-brothers to be graped by them.

There will be a lot of exciting developments in the next full chapter, some of which turn isekai conventions on their head.

Counterpoint: the entire reason she’s still alive so far is because she said she can send the summoned back. That’s why kento tolerated her existence. And now when he has enough leverage to open the cookie jar, THERE IS NO COOKIE. It’s a godsdamned lie. Then what was all the suffering for?

Also, here at MD we’re getting sick of mcs who don’t have the grit to pull the trigger when it counts. It’s a JP protag trope since “killing is bad”. Yes killing is bad, but in a medieval fantasy setting, mercy usually means “phase 2 madafakaz” is gonna happen down the road if it involves a chara too important to be written off as a Baddie of the Week.

And sometimes, in medieval fantasy settings, even after killing them, you can have: "I came for phase 3 bi@tch".

Don't want to criticise you point, just want to say that if can even seal or destroy their souls, do it just for good measure.

It's actually a pretty good reason for stopping him. A trained knight like Reinhardt would know there is nothing worse than someone that kills purely because of their emotions. Set a precedent for that, and a Kento will kill anyone that annoys him.

to be fair about it, Reinhardt is a knight first and before, he will kill monster and bandits no questions, but if it's some high ranker, it's better to do anything other than outright kill her because of his rage, remember that even her position alone is valuable

He wasn't just going to kill her. He planned to necromance her alien ass and turn her into a meat puppet. Probably much safer since she can no longer screw him over as a meat puppet. These xeno humans don't consider Terrans as fellow humans. Quite frankly at this point Kento should treat these xeno humans from the Kingdom the same way.

Since that Kingdom has a history of summoning Terrans and screwing them over. I'll bet the past heroes flipped out due to the kingdom's moronic actions in the first place. Remember they got rid of the other heroes turned deamon lords by summoning even more Terrans and letting them kill each other.

Therefore. I would make sure that Trash Kingdom no longer has the means to summon Terrans. If that means murdering several high ranking royals, destroying summoning tools and burning their libraries then so be it. Kento is quite capable of doing all of this with his sneaky stealth abilities and insider knowledge of the Kingdom.

For more than a decade of reading manga on multiple sites, I've always seen people whining about the "MC" (these people never use the protagonist's name) not killing. Never mind the idea of someone being made to SUFFER THROUGH CONSEQUENCES instead of getting an easy out.

Considering that this is Kento here... who has proven to be obsessed with this woman, as spying on her in the bath is his main form of entertainment... he only went for the kill out of lust for the idea of having her obey him. If he did manage to kill her and raise her with necromancy, his character would have gone in an awful direction. His familiars can sense his feelings and true thoughts:

It would have gone a dark, degenerate route real quick.

Instead, she's going to have to deal with being told to fuck off when she flirts with him.
