Amagi giving him the mom stare and he asking her not be mad is so cute. :glee:
I'm still picturing all of her cute poses at the end credits in the anime. She is to adorable there (Funny how the end credits was my favorite part of the anime)

I was thinking about that too. The way I've heard and used it all my life is that. Threefold == 3 times.

I'm now wondering if I've just been taught wrong as is common. Fold once and it doubles the thickness, twice four times, so three folds would be eight times.

Exponential growth.

Language gets misused and abused all the time, so this difference in meaning wouldn't surprise me.

For some examples, "it's all up hill from here" I grew up with meaning things will only get better. Years ago the people in the work environment confused me with "it's all down hill from here" meaning to them that things will only get easier from now on. One day, I'll figure out the difference between button-up and button-down shirts.
I assume in math form (bear with me), three-fold not like A multiply with 3 (A × 3) but rather you make it cube (A³ / A × A × A) so practically you make them way more numerous than you can realistically do.

Decided to ruin this fun.

Definition of "threefold"

#1 is the original meaning apparently, and it is a way to count things. "The scanlators are working on threefold comics" meaning they are working on three comics, not nine. It also isn't a multiplier originally (#2); just an olde way to count.

I don't mind being wrong, often times I may do it on purpose. I've found the easiest way to get something corrected is by being wrong on the Internet. Had to do it myself this time it seems. Have to work off my Internet karma I suppose.

The multiplier aspect (#2) was added with usage it looked like. So it is also 3 x A, generally used.

I'd say you'd have to have at least four times your enemy's numbers.
Our force is around 30 thousand battleships, so that means… the enemy numbers we are possibly able to fight off are only around 10 thousand ships?!
I see math is not the MC's strong suit.

That, and he completely missed the point of the lesson: fight smarter.
