I love the way the speech bubbles almost seemed to take up literal space in the room. With Uzume's bragging completely covering Hizumi up, as if she were physically erasing her, and Hizumi's speech pushing Uzume away as she retaliated with her own accomplishments.

All the childhood friend did was piss her off. Like as cool and collected Hizumi is, she's hopelessly in love with Shinba. The fact she was that distraught when he mentioned "breaking up" with her basically solidifies the dynamic here.

Personally I feel like it was there to cover HIzumi's expression so the reader can only wonder what expression she's going to make hearing all that.
