Edit: I debated on adding this because I don't wish to try and make it sound as if Eiji was wrong, as he did literally nothing wrong, but if we want to be really real, if Eiji has went straight to his mother or teacher about the situation, or sought some help, counseling, they could have gotten the ball rolling on this a lot sooner before we got suicidal, but Eiji is also an emotional teenager who is swayed by emotion, desires, and peer pressure.

Guessing she's STILL working off or in the process of working off the Compensation Money, doesn't look like she lives with her mother, Sure the Woman and her or on SHITTY terms after what she did! Feel bad for her, especially when she reveals she WAS in Miyuki position, she FELL for a "Kondo" and lost everything and then he abandoned her, She cant believe her "sweet Miyuki" threw it all away for a "CARBON COPY OF HER FATHER" as again, she never CHEATED on no one, nor LIE and ruin anyone's reputation for such trash, so Miyuki is worse, even FORGETTING The Aono's were their BENEFACTORS! The Mother and Son have been in their lives and helping them since they came to town, they've always been tight and HE in general has ALWAYS looked out for her....and she returned ALL that favor They as in LUCKY also failed to point out that we DID get a flashback from Miyuki's POV AFTER they left Aono there, namely Kondo and her were in a panic and that's when he manipulated her dumb ass to lie to protect their reputation, Miyuki acting like Aono will survive the lie and a GOOD indicator that she secretly envy him. In the future the cheating ex gf will be so emotional beatdown from the yelling and accusations from her mother, mc's mother, her classmates, her teachers, the mc's new girl and the mc herself, that she will try to kill herself. But instead of realizing they might be pushing a bit hard, they double down on her calling her selfish and wanting to run away leaving a wound on the mc's heart.

I know many people want to see her get her comeuppance, and she does. But at some point you have to stop punishing someone for a mistake. I just don't see the point of expecting great emotional maturity and reasoning from a high school girl.

So she continued the lie while she was still in semi shock Do you tell drug addicts "just don't do drugs anymore, easy?" And before you say its not like drug addiction is completely is. She was pressured into it by a friend, got a taste, told herself she could stop anytime, and kept getting deeper until it was too late and ruined Eiji's life and hers.

While I don't disagree with your overall take, there's one part I have to push back on. Yes, Miyuki might not have had a direct hand in everything her classmates did to harass Eiji. But in this chapter, by her own admission, she let Kondo abuse her arm, take a picture of it, and send it out.

She may not have held the phone herself, but she still stood by and allowed it to happen. She helped that rumor spread. That makes her an active participant in Eiji’s harassment, not just a bystander. In that moment, she had a choice, and she chose to let it happen. That makes her complicit.

And you're right, this has become like a drug to her. She's scared of losing Kondo because she's afraid of everything that comes with that. Her friend introduced her to someone who abuses and manipulates, and she fell for him. Not just for the person, but for the power, the status, and the thrill of sneaking around with someone like that behind Eiji’s back.

So when you lay it all out, she’s not much better than Kondo. She might not have thrown the first punch, but she watched him bleed. She knew what was happening and stayed silent. Not out of confusion or indecision, but out of fear. She's terrified of what telling the truth might cost her. She thinks that what happened to Eiji could just as easily happen to her.

Rather than risk that, she keeps quiet. She lets him suffer while she reaps the benefits. That’s not just weakness, that’s cruelty. For someone who was his childhood friend, his first girlfriend, his first love, to stand by and watch this happen?

That's evil. Whether she sees it as a drug or not, whether she regrets it or not, she knew what she was doing. I can acknowledge that she’s addicted now, but addiction doesn’t erase what she’s done. And it definitely doesn’t excuse it.
