It's been a while since I played (activated on Steam with a probably-gray-market code on Apr 2, 2020) but I have decent memories of the game. I bought it for its atmosphere, quirkiness and dark satire. Steam ratings are Very Positive (recent) and Mostly Positive (overall). It is NOT worth the retail $59.99 but according to isthereanydeal.com it's routinely is on sale for $12-$15 and the package of DLCs for $3.

Steam activation record shows I activated a "complementary" version of "Half-Life 2 Retail Standard" on May 21, 2005. The first game I purchased from Steam/Valve was Bioshock on July 25, 2008.
