didn't stop slave owner to whip and torture their own slaves. i meant, there are lots of records in history that happens.

you need to be considered slave owner also a racist and love to humiliate and torture slave too. its not author are crazy, its you that never learned history bruh.

why don't go read history of black slave in America history for example and then tell me that slave master didn't torture slave for fun because it stupid and against common sense.
Slavery did not appear with the US slave trade. I advise you to read a history book. Among the causes of the collapse of empires, slave revolts are easily in the top 5 (an empire does not collapse just for that). The most enlightened leaders know that maintaining a minimum of human rights for the lowest class is essential to avoid being overthrown. Those who have not followed this policy have seen their end.

I refrain from drawing a parallel with our modern situation, but those who know have already done so.
This level of moral degradation is a symptom of an empire on the verge of collapse.

Now that's just outright wrong. People mistreated their slaves plenty in history.

The USA to this day is still dealing with the cultural history of racist slave owners who treated their slaves of a different race as trash, and many to this day still see the former slave ethnicities as beneath them.

You can't say people didn't treat their slaves badly, that doesn't make sense when within the last 200 years we got racists making up shit like "well their skulls are shaped a certain way so they are the inferior primitive beings compared to us" (Phrenology), and we still got those racist people today.

Like read a book, European slave owners colonies in Africa were exactly like this but even worse. Look up Leopold 2 of Belgium, guy got 10 million people killed because of this same attitude you think only happens in fictional manga.

Human beings IRL will be this exact kind of scum, and we don't even need magic in our world or actually completely different fantasy races like elves/demihumans/etc to do it.
It's really sad when USA is the only place people associate with slavery. History is littered with slaves civilizations conquering and enslaving others. Christ, there's still slavery in Africa to day! People being bought and sold right tf now. I mean who do you think sold slaves in Africa to Europeans? Its fucked, but at least one of them stopped realized that and outlawed it.

And it's may have already been said but the post you call out says they didn't damage property. Of course they were treated poorly but they weren't beaten to the point they couldn't work. Wtf would you make a serious investment in a slave, then render them unable to be productive? A slave with a broken bone, mental disorder, infection from wound, or other preventable injury is throwing serious money away. It's like buying a car for work, then getting mad at and puncturing the tires or smashing the windshield. That's what they meant by damaging property.

We all agree they recieved inhumane treatment. So maybe having a farm dog would be a better analogy. If it has to protect lifestock and perform other tasks, you'd want it in peak physical condition. Maybe a few lashings for discipline (which is cruel to do to any living creature) but risking serious injury to it is just a stupid economical decision. Only wealthy people could buy and maintain slaves

I don't mean to downplay the legacy of American enslaved people. I'm black myself. But I don't like being manipulated by people with agendas who push false narratives for political gains. Most of my life I wondered if Afrian Americans would have been better off if colonialization never occured. Would we have a culture and economy worthy of envy by other countries? Would we have build giant cargo ships for trade, architecture worthy of awe, or clean vibrant cities people would want to immigrate to? Some may exist now but they are the exception. Shit, I mean whats the ration for countries with and without basic things like plumbing systems, roads or an energy grid so people have light at night? Africa wasn't the only continent rich in oil and that was colonized. Yet every other place "caught on" relatively quick once it ended.

When I saw Wakanda in Black Panther, I felt like we were being mocked in some way. Like it would take a magical mcguffin for black African countries to build infrasture on par with Western nations and provide meaningful contributions to science. Like all that is strictly in the realm of fantasy. All that's in Africa's future is liberal white college missionaries (and Mr BEast) visiting to build wells, then the village selling the metals for money. I'm overthinking it. It's so fcked.

Edit: spelling mistakes

I heard that slave revolts rarely if ever cause an empire to collapse. It's usually when other powerful people around the current ruler allow it to happen. I'm mostly going off this CGP Grey video.

I picked USA because while slavery is a widespread thing around the world historically, depending on time and place slaves could just be seen as property servants or even almost like a job. You worked for 10 years to pay off a debt as a slave for example, or you were just captured in war and made to work.

Sometimes slaves were just treated as loyal house servants like a butler or a maid.

The time of slavery in the USA is particularly notable (though not the only one) due to a number of factors.

1) The nonsensical ways they justified it at times. Older civilizations regularly see it more as business and financial transactions. White Americans went to some weird levels of justifying slavery that is was natural via religion and biology, seeing themselves as physically and spiritually superior. This led to treatment of slaves that could be worse than other historical slave owning civilizations. It went from "well you owe me 5000 denarii and you shall work as my slave for 15 years to pay it off" to "you are an inferior being to me and I'm blessed by God".

2) It's relatively closer to our time period. While slavery was rapidly falling off in the rest of the world, the USA went to war with people desperately trying to keep it.

3) Still dealing with it today. Even though slavery is illegal in the States, the cultural stigma and irrational feelings of superiority and hatred over a group of people they believe are inferior to them is still very much present today.

--------

Which all leads up to this manga chapter. People see things like this as cartoonishly evil and could never happen IRL. I can very easily see this happening IRL by real life humans in the past, and the present if given the opportunity.

Ayaka Sogou, the Takao sisters, Nyantan Kikipat, the students mentors, the Sabred-Tooth Tigers...
Also, most of the students are background characters.
So... related to the MC, related to the MC, I'll give you Nyantan and the student's mentors. But if the students are from the MC's world, why were they so willing to dispose of the MC? Did the story make them that gleeful to do evil for the sake of adding drama artificially?

Anyway, I went back and read through the story and I stand corrected: 50% of all people in the story, background and otherwise—background doesn't mean nothing in terms of useful world building—are itching at the chance to do evil. So that's less evil than I originally thought.

I still wonder how their societies function with that many people chomping at the bit. Still, why does everyone the MC face have to suddenly become racist or otherwise do some horrible act so gleefully? That kind of writing lacks nuance.
They need her for a specific reason, but Allion has other ways in case they're unable to use her.
So her being dead won't matter that much to them, it's just that Allion has limited ressources in that matter, so it would be wasted for nothing.
Okay, that doesn't dismiss the severity of the statement "...wouldn't be able to face...". I don't say I wouldn't be able to face my parents for forgetting to pick up something they asked me to pick up. If the cat girl was merely a convenience issue, why were his words so severe?

Now, it could be that he was making a sarcastic joke... but none of his friends were laughing.
lol most of the readers here are just there to read a powerful MC who kills everything in sight and absolutely don't care about the story.
So standards my ass.
You know what? That's fair.

Ayaka Sogou doesn't know he's alive (and seeing his objective, she could very well become his enemy). The sisters don't have any relationship with him and are wild cards (especially Hijiri).
Also, they don't need to be on his side to be nice people.
Concercing the students, most of them are only followers of the class's leaders and their allegiance shifted after the last battle.

Basically they were educated like that. The Church of Vicius is mostly composed of people as bad as the goddess herself. That said, there are people who don't agree with her. The Mad Beautiful Emperor was introduced as someone who distrust Vicius, but we later learn that he's the 3rd in line, so he stole the throne from his brothers (by force it seems). Hard to say if he's a good guy or a bad guy with this informations alone.
