I hope the writer doesn’t chicken out at the end and the MC does have 1 year to live, though it probably won’t happen
Temper your expectations. I am certain that the author won't deliver on that, the question is whether he has the literary skill to build up to the resolution over time or it'll get deus ex machina'd away.

Seems generic but the one year left to live premise has gotten me interested.

You know he doesn't.
This is just another gimmick manga.

Expect the accuracy of the title (manga/novel) to not go beyond the first vol.

Very strong premise, and not terrible delivery. Wouldn’t say it’s amazing, but the parts that pull at emotions (like how he’s treated by family) don’t feel forced. Instead, it feels very much like viewing the situation through a kid’s eyes who isn’t seeing the entire picture but gets enough to realize he’s not wanted. The lack of detail comes off more as intentionally trusting a reader to get it, which is just what such a story needs.

The first… arc I guess, looks strong too. It’s perfect for this kind of character, a tough situation that isn’t physical, based on understanding how the world works, and lets his open minded compassion shine through. Was first a bit put off by some random noble chick immediately picking him up, same as the alarm bells that went off when the story opened with some kid pulling off big chunii magic stuff, but it’s explained well and allowed for an interesting plot.

Hoping the story doesn’t ignore his one year diagnosis. That it will come up occasionally instead of being pulled out of the blue many chapters later only to be solved within the same arc. Preferably, it’s handled in a way that makes the entire journey feel earned. It’s got potential.
