She can peg me 😍Sawa will peg Oota in the next doujin. Trust the plan.
It's the fact that the whole premise feels stupid, and seeing the characters acting according to that feels stupid. Although I'm willing to admit that at least part of the problem may be in my inability to relate with oshi culture.I don't get the hate for this series. There has been worse from other romcoms in terms of development and these are high school students anyways, emotionally they are not smart. I'm glad to see he resolved the problem with her.
Not sure if it was intentional or not on the author's part, but this story has made me despise oshi culture with a burning hatred far more than Oshi no Ko ever did, and Oshi no Ko was actively trying to call out how shit oshi culture is.It's the fact that the whole premise feels stupid, and seeing the characters acting according to that feels stupid. I am certified celebrity/influencer/famous people worshipper/orbiter/admirer/fan hater.I don't get the hate for this series. I kinda feel it's intentional when juxtaposed with the other couple that act like somewhat normal people. It keeps bringing in all these "fandom" terms to a "real life" scenario to show how dumb it is to use them even with fictional people. If you take it as a deconstruction of this phenomenon, it's fascinating. Not sure if it was intentional or not on the author's part, but this story has made me despise oshi culture with a burning hatred far more than Oshi no Ko ever did, and Oshi no Ko was actively trying to call out how shit oshi culture is.
At the very least, the undertones of these recent chaps seem to be building up to Oota getting some sort of karmic retribution for his oshi bullshit and I am all for it.
I can say from the perspective of someone who couldn't understand the love for this series at first. The other couple is actually what sold me, because it showed me the author CAN write an interesting love story, but they are choosing not to. At least in the case of our main couple. And that alone is interesting enough to keep me reading on the hope they will transform into normal highschoolers.I don't get the hate for this series. Yeah the fact that Oota is being shown as being wrong in how he treats Sawa is the saving grace of the series so far.Not sure if it was intentional or not on the author's part, but this story has made me despise oshi culture with a burning hatred far more than Oshi no Ko ever did, and Oshi no Ko was actively trying to call out how shit oshi culture is.
