I rarely play MMORPGs, but I remember playing Adventure Quest World and Dragon Fable back then. I mained rouge in AQW and SoulWeaver in Dragon Fable. To this day I think SoulWeaver is one of the coolest class in whole of Artix Games.

Isn't this genre already dead? Nowadays they're born dead and it's either pay to grind or pay to win.
It's not really a dead genre per say, I agree it's not as popular as it used to be, however i do agree that most MMO's are not as good as they used to be and many lost their magic, but the genre is far from dead, Runescape(both 3 and old school) is actually growing in popularity , world of warcraft while not as big is still a very popular game, warframe has a very big player base and other than these that i am familiar with, there are thousands of games with die hard player bases that are still being played and updated to this day! (toram online, ever quest, black desert online, ultima online, final fantasy etc.)

In my opinion MMO's original selling point whas the multiplayer part(the player interaction) but nowdays people have so many ways to talk and meet each other so that aspect of them is kinda gone resulting in many games failing to attract new players to the genre!

WoW is as popular to normies as Ragnarok Online is for otakus, but none of them because of the efforts of official servers. In fact, WoW accepted the P2G and P2W logic years ago and it's only bleeding out as it keeps adding features that deter the most faithful players (according to those I know that love watching Blizzard sink). At some point this year I played Ragnarok Online again and yes, when someone with brains is managing a server is great, but the community stinks and well, it's a Multiplayer Massive Online videogame... many people keep trying these games because they had a golden era, but new players are just too badly influenced so they tend to ruin other's experience just by existing.
