They’re barely friends nevermind lovers, at this point I think they both spent more pages fucking other people than each other, and have otherwise barely interacted for the past 2 dozen chapters or so. In Gotou’s case he’s banged two other girls who are both far superior to main girl, cuckolding a rival fuckboy in the process and will likely be adding a 4th notch to his bedpost next chapter.

Super Takeda can't write character development. I would expect Gotou to have been angry with Agawa after she shoots his attitude down. He changed to meet her expectations. I'd have atleast liked to see Gotou respond to her statements. But really he's losing two of best girls for Agawa.
