Had he, I doubt even WHEN it was revealed the boy was a grown man and a Criminal would have changed anything (since he'd have shown his INTENT to attack "A CHILD" for the sake of SIDING with a Rich Merchant! Instead of looking like he saw through the disguise and so wasn't tricked and punished accordingly (as without the disguise, OBVIOUSLY had MC did the same thing with the Guy in his true form. The same results that hit him with everyone loving him would apply all the same, since even HE, said Criminal thought MC fell for his "innocent" disguise and was going to be "stupid good" and let him go with his ill gotten goods or something)
