Dude almost died and no one was charged. My issue is what's to stop that bastard from doing it to another party member? This seems extremely irresponsible of the guild leader and that other party member. Also surprised that the childhood friend didn't beat the crap out of him and made him unable to work anymore when she found out as a half assed apology shouldn't be able to cover them trying to murder someone you supposedly hold dear. Thanks for the chapter!!!

Segrit are an biggest and absolute cretin in the world. He are way too prideful to apologize to Dion unlike his teammate. Now Abyss will try to spread the chaos with her evil plan. Good look with Eldora and Yuki, buddy boy.

i don’t remember for certain, but wasn’t she mostly unaware of the mistreatment? Or am I mixing this up with another manga?
Very true about this she did not know. And by the way the earlier chapters went the only reason he never told her about it is because he knew that she'll take his side and just leave the others. It's the same exact crap reason why he didn't come back even though the guy said he wanted the rape her. He thought that should be better off with the killers and potential rapist

"Bro i tried to kill you but like, i am... sorry or something, whatever~"

Anyway, glorious torpedo tits author!
That scene is basically a hint of future spoilers, without spoiling, you can go back to first chapter and see she doesn't participate directly in either or the traps since she's the noob in the party, she just doesn't stops the other two either, and the reason is a spoiler already posted in this topic

Weird, it almost feels out of character for her to let em' go.
she is able to break their backs 5 times each with so much ease that she can do it in sleep.
so yes they do have to let her go or getting punched in the faces.

also the UNpunished Bastard... i was thinking about if it was his attempt murder on someone?
did he kill a party member before? hm

i already know of her circumstances and shit didn't fly.
First, even if she is investigating them, undercover agents is a pretty complicated field, while some are exempt of minor crimes it would be extremely hard a jury pardon a murder, and if her investigation is at this point she already has proof to seize them.
To quote one example:
One of the more well-known examples of this is the “Donnie Brasco” case, where undercover FBI agent Joe Pistone spent years infiltrating the Bonnano crime family. He eventually gained their trust to the point that he was going to be made an official “made man” or official member of the mafia. To do this, however, he was required to kill someone, which the FBI couldn’t approve. As such, the operation was shut down (although by that point, they had already obtained enough evidence to convict over 100 mafia members).

Second, her morals, if she thinks an innocenti life for a operation is worth the price she is already a bad and scummy person. Even if we buy the whole "she couldn't arrest them, she stills need proof of their other crimes" she could very well:
1. Tipped Dion off.
2. Arranged an emergency kit for him.
3. Came back later to at least check on him.
4. Involved her superiors.
She had time for ALL of them, the attempt at Dion was premeditated, they talked with her about killing him, set up a plan and she agreed and acted on it.

The author just wanted to subvert the whole "all the other members of the part are comicaly evil" trope but did it in a poor way, i don't know his plans for her after her 'punishment' but i surely dont think he will write any compelling character growth or 'redemption' arc for her

I agree with these guys, go explode.
I wonder why Segrit isn't getting punished and even has the audacity to speak like that.

The spoiler doesn't excuse it, nor her passivity and inactivity afterward. Other people already pointed out all the issues with this plot.

Even if she was completely unaware, even with several clues to what was going on, as a friend and a party leader thats still neglectful at best. If you dont notice your childhood friend getting quieter and more withdrawn around the party, and just generally less outspoken after they joined, you've failed as a friend and a party leader.

I made this point before with Yuki but she didn't mean for this happen. She was so focused on Dion she didn't realize the animosity of the group and its obvious he didn't have a lot of confidence before so any abuse he did receive from the others he never spoke up about it and they covered up any trace of bully him from Yuki.
Even if she didnt mean for it to happen, it did still happen. She was so focused on him that she didnt notice him get more withdrawn and quiet? At best she was neglectful in her duties as a friend and party leader, some amount of accountability is going to be on her for bringing the abusers into the group and not noticing.

Not gonna lie at first it kinda triggers me when she said she want her back in that party is she stupid? and thought she will staying in that party despite previous incident and then she proceed to join the MC party instead.
"I know my party members attempted to assassinate you, but wont you please come back to our party?"
I swear I read something similar in this scenario but I already forgot what's the title, childhood friend choose to stay to scumbag party because the leader is "Hero" and she's also needed to that party to "save the world"

While the Guild knows the secret, feels like theres something so big behind the scenes that keeping that asshole under watch and raging is better than exposing him. Asshole might be the canary in the coal mine.

The guild master seems to not want her higher ups knowing about Dion and Eldora either, meaning not even the king. Thats also suspicious as hell.
