Something tells me you'd enjoy Etrian Odyssey 3. In the game itself you could even make her a Princess/Monk so she can cast both Breakfire and Darkness Fists after tossing out buffs. Not that great of a tank in that case though, missing out on Hoplite abilities when you do that.

Surprisingly not that hard to believe. Especially if their nation is a traditionally patriarchy. Even more so if they are bigoted. "Mother" has made several comments already that leads the audience to believe that men are the defenders and bread winners in their society while women cook, clean, and bear the children. Otherwise there would be less resistance to her self improvement....

OTOH there might be other practical explanations for preventing branch family Princess from becoming too strong. If you didn't catch on, her mother is only the 14th concubine to the current Emperor. If the Princess gains too much personal power and authority, she becomes a source of discontent and leverage in political circles.

Not only could she out shine her brother, but other individuals closer to the throne. If so, it becomes less about the proprietary of a woman acting beyond her means, and becomes an issue of politics and succession rights.

Yea no: there is always underlying reason for anything and dismiss something as "just bigotry and patriarchy" is very narrow sighted. MC has both linage and personal abilities to stand above any societal norms that we can see...
And we cannot see any hints of any power struggle at this point - not that it would make any sense either because political power and physical prowess are different things, not to mention order of inheritance is a thing - not even isekai authors trash it alltogether.
We see pure comedic breaking of comedic expectations. Basically gag manga.

You do realize that bigotry and lingering patriarchal tendencies are why women get marginalized in our modern society, yes? It's also why most medical testing is done on male subject, because all the womanly bit and hormones throw off their tests... all of which sounds completely and utterly insane for it to exist in a first world countries, yet it does. You have to look no further then the reproductive rights of women being revoked, yet again, in the US not long ago.

As for my speculation about her mother trying to prevent her daughter from causing internal family political issue, it could go many directions. The Emperor could welcome any strong member to join him in the capital, or could see it as a direct challenge to his authority. The same could be said for every other of the 13+ families in the Emperor's harem.

All we have to go OK at this point in the story is that her mother is firmly against her weight training, ruining her figure, and the perception that she is an out of control meathead with the moniker the Armored Princess.
